Now that you've clicked this thread, what tier do you think this year's GC teams would be if they were playing on the VCT main circuit? T2 or T3?

We already have a decent sample size, currently they are right at the bottom of T2 but higher than T3 (Lot of teams already qual beating T3), GC had mental barrier in T3, it's not the case anymore, when they overcome mental barrier in T2 and play at their real level I do trust they can hit mid of the T2 pack
Some kind of inferiory complex that need to be overcome.
It seems that all the mental assault they live in the soloQ tend to leave mark when they play against men, wish is understandable.
Also when so many people tell how worseless you are you have an option to proove them wrong you play with so mush more pressure than an usual T2 team that play against another T2 teamlike every thursday.
I dont have a degree in psychology, but from what I tend to hear, it seems this mental barrier do exist (Even if I might have worded it very poorly)

fym qual t3, most of the GC teams get a free buy into the closed qualifiers and even then, they lose. Just look at TL (my goats only behind fennel), they lost to a team called NIGERIA96 😭
Some of them won the said qualifier. SR with Flor didnt won T3, SR with Flor did. SR isnt better without Flor, prooving it was a mental barrier (A lot of other GC don't even try and only focus GCC wish is sad)
they were the only ones that did and then proceeded to get 13-0’d, win a single game against a team with subs and then go out winless in relegation
and this mental block thing is complete copium, you can’t be getting destroyed by random ass premier teams while having solid management, staff and stable salaries, it’s just a tier gap brotato chip, aint nothing to be ashamed of
SR won a game in T2, and few more in qualifier, so it's not dumb to say they deserve bottom T2, high T3, every increment it's better.
Val is about aim and mental, staff is important but more I talk with coach, and more I tend to see they are marginal gain.
The exemple proof it's a mental barrier, since a worse team went further than T2. Especially when for GC team T2 is more a sidequest
Edit : I also have another argument, I saw a buch of mid T2GC-T3GC team that can't even to win even their national league and best they can win is winning open qualifier of GC qualifier (top 32), manage to win Elite 5 (T5), and reaching playoffs of Contenders (T4), so putting team that are WAY above them one playoff away from them wouldnt make any sense
Winning a single game in tier two isn’t “deserve tier 2” level, they lost relegation twice, so they shouldn’t be there. They only won closed qualifiers once and that was in stage 1 (btw, they got a free win since one of their opponents was the other GC team that got in through riot pity). I’m not even sure how they got into stage 2 since they lost to funhavers in the relegation match.
Not only do they not deserve a spot in tier 2, their presence is actively hurting the tier 2 environment since it reduces the amount of open qualifiers teams that play in the closed qualies (aka teams that are actually putting in blood, sweat and tears by getting though the fck ton of open quali matches). If you want to get into tier 2, you should do it like everyone else, no pity free entries.
As for what you said abt the mental, I couldn’t understand shit. The truth is, if you’re getting paid to play, and have an actual coaching staff and management, there is no world in which you should be losing to a random five stack unless there’s a clear gap between GC and tier 3.
they lost relegation twice. They loose the first time, then won twice,then loose again when GCC were approaching, pretty normal, and gap is closing, everything is good. It's hurt nothing, TO org could shoose to had more team in closed qual, IIRC BR T2 had some closed qual with 16 team at some point, blame the TO not the GC team, they won this qualifier twice prooving they deserve to be in this qualifier. They won their place fair and square. Thats just pure hate toward GC at this point.

They only won closed qualifiers once, before stage one. They didn’t participate in stage two and got into stage three through some black magic (they weren’t supposed to be there since only the top 2 in P/R make it while they got 3rd-4th), and that’s the main complaint.
I dont blame the GC team, I know they’re just doing their job. I was blaming the format. They aren’t good enough to be in tier 2, and if they want to get in, they should do it like everyone else. It only harms the competitive integrity of tier 2.
They technically manage to qualify to stage 2, but that because 1 team get disband I agree.

reference aside, they had basic and a guy named dih, I dont think you can beat them, that’s a champs winning team
middle of the pack T2 as a team, some individuals could be in the blend of top t2 low t1
SRG played in challengers for 2 seasons and got relegated twice. No GC team is middle of the pack T2.
well only some teams from gc try... their focus is still on gc and not on dominating in T2. If every gc team tries their best in T2 we would see that the best teams probably hangout in the middle of T2

srg minus flor tbf ,flor probably wouldve elevated srg to the level of a middle to top tier 2 team ,srg without flor likely will not get the world championship this year because there are such insane talents in gc globally that without flor dropping 100 kills its just very difficult even tho they do have a very good core.

A lot of t2 teams scrim against t1 and gain experience from that… idk how many gc teams scrim t1 teams or even get t2 teams to take scrims against them seriously enough
tier 3 max, no offense but GC shopify couldn't even compete in challengers as proven
Top of tier 3 or bottom tier 2. And thats pretty much just the best teams imo only SRG and Xipto
