SEN were supposed to be one of the best orgs for job security and sustainability. But now even they are cheaping out and dropping elite players to save money. If SEN of all orgs is doing ts, then it's not long before the entire ecosystem will collapse. The scene is so unstable that every org would rather field a mediocre roster instead of paying their players what they deserve.

Essentially, we are witnessing the downfall of VCT. What can be done to stop this?

I have never been a SEN fan but I always respected Rob Moore for dumping a ton of money into his valorant roster and his support for the scene. But now, idk.

Did you even read the article that says Zekken is going to MIBR for less money because he wants to play with Aspas???

that hardly proves shit. maybe he just didn't want to burn any bridges.

bro bet money got involved, if sen dont want to get bet money ofc they have to go cheaper and they have a promising academy team so its not that bad imo

i understand wanting to go save money, esports is hella unprofitable. but losing zekken and johnqt is insane.

the thing is, with bet money now any team can have just as much money if not more than them so if they want to stay in the market without accepting it they have to go cheaper now like it or not

Which is bad. Who knows how long until Rob Moore leaves the partnerships for good because of his new focus on League.

Sorry if I intrude, but do you have fear of abandonment trauma ?

TenZ needs to play again so there's more clout and viewership for the game.

I agree, ppl on this site hate him for some reason but he was genuinely so good for the scene. How is VLR so blind to not see that

It’s a lot more vocal minority, a lot of the more casual fans are non-vocal but you can look at social media to see how much traction posts with him get compared to those without (aside from PRX, Aspas, etc)

either 1/10 bait or you're just fkn dumb and ignoring the millions of ppl who have already pointed out that zekken's contract was expiring. the ball isn't in their court. you have fuck all in terms of evidence to prove they are 'cheaping out' lol. just stop

No need to get hostile. I know his contract was expiring but it is damning to me that he would rather go to MiBR then to resign with SEN. That must have been because they low-ball'd the shit out of him.

I actually heard it was the opposite, money wasn’t the issue; he just wanted to play with Aspas.

Fair, but then what about johnqt? as far as I know there aren't any rumors about him. And SEN had no real reason to drop him besides being stupid. To me it looks like they disagreed during contract negotiations and Johnqt would rather test his market value in free agency

the reports already said he was taking a pay cut. it wasn't a money thing. you gotta work a different angle.

not only does that not prove anything, it also doesn't explain johnqt leaving.

sen revenue literally only comes from val, every other tier 1 team have multiple forms of revenue.

True but it doesn't really matter cuz a lot orgs run at a net loss

Alot of teams have years they spend high and low, You cant field great teams 4 years in a row its too expensive

I guess you're right, but that's part of the bigger problem of esports being unprofitable.
