PEOPLE IN LOWER RANKS WHO DO NOT HAVE A MICROPHONE

I was once part of the silent majority of people who literally didn't have a mic for years, and for us valorant was a game of reading in-game body language and trying to coordinate things

for higher ranks with at least two or three people comming, this update is like a tac fps dream come true, but lower ranks are going to be even more of a baiting hellhole

Riot has only made life harder for no-mic players ever since they mutilated the old radio comms wheel (removing stuff like "Going B" "Quiet" etc)

what is this no mic shit? if ppl play in laptop youd have in built mic. Even a potato earphone/headphone has a mic. How do ppl say they dont have a mic?

if youre playing with a laptop, if you enable the mic the sound gets worse and sounds horrible, so most people just pick audio

bruh... i play with laptop mic. my frnds havent really said anything abt my mic quality. Infact it sounds clearer than my headphone mic 😭

genuinely what is the excuse to not have a mic in ranked, you dont even have to be talkative just press v and say "they're A" its a million times faster than typing in chat or the wheel

if you're anxious then maybe ranked isnt for you

as for me, I didn't have a mic for a while because my headset had a jack cable that I could either plug into the audio or the microphone port of my computer (obviously I deemed the audio as more important), but then I eventually got a usb one

Like are you guys seeing this prejudice lmao

there are so, so many people who:

play on PCs with HEADPHONES but NO MIC, because they DO NOT OWN a MIC
fried laptop users whose built-in mics aren't viable
people who play in environments where they can't speak out loud

If valorant was genuinely your first fps game - or you came from other games - and you started in a lower rank, you might not even encounter someone using voice chat for your first hundred games! Like it's an entirely different ecosystem of players down there compared to say, the average mid-rank vlr user here.

It's a very jarring experience to then rank up and have teammates who yell at you in this manner

(not saying that comms aren't important - i bought my first headset ever, and being able to comm has been like opening a third eye)

I fall into the 3rd category but it's so annoying since I do a lot of pre round calling and mid round comms in chat but I just can't speak, there's dozens of people in rooms next to me with paper thin walls between the rooms, quite frustrating really

Yeah I was in the same situation - I had the comms wheel on speed dial on left Ctrl, then chat comms when dead

Only now that I live alone in an apartment with a j*b did i bother to go to the Store and buy a Headset just for video games haha, bought the cheapest one

This update has broken me , i used flex all initiators+sentinels+controllers and only duelist i could play was yoru and now im just gonna spam brimstone untill they buff cypher or initiators

even for people who don't give actual comms i just turn them down to volume 1, still can make out their words but not enough to distract if they're yodelling during a clutch

Majority of comms in low elo aren’t productive no one gives out correct call outs. Ranked is just a aim game
