Pros who dropped to t2 then came back stronger

Have there been any t1 pros in Valorant that didn't make it during their first run in t1, dropped to t2, and then eventually made it back to t1 and thrived?

I don't follow many other esports, but has it happened in CS or LOL?

they mean that guard was playing at masters reyzchjavick(??!?) BEFORE franchise, then had to work their way back through t2 and are now one of the most methodical hivemind teams ever

nah what loubag is saying is that the guard wasn't recognized as a franchised team so technically they were t1 the whole time, they would've gone into t1 anyways but riot didn't like them and that whole situation bla bla bla

Btw do you know why the Guard roster weren't picked up by any of NA's franchised orgs? Were they just underrated or did they improve a lot?

because they wanted to stay as a core and there was no realistic destination for them to go. At the end of 2022/ start of franchise, C9 built a superteam with the best player of 2022 in yay, NRG picked up the Optic core, SEN picked up two brazilians from the team who just won champions, noone wanted to go to EG and many people thought that 100Ts young core of Asuna + Bang + newly added Cryo was better cause they just 3-0d guard to get to champs that year. there were rumours of trent to SEN at the time, but the guard -Sayaplayer decided to stick together and improve as a group instead of having some guys stay in tier 1 and some go back to tier 2

this was after they won ascension, the guard did not have any money and had a poor administration, so when Riot asked them to submit documents and they missed the deadline, The Guard as an org ceased to exist, which Riot originally planned to have no team ascend from americas that year. When the community was outraged over the event, they then allowed orgs to bid to take the Guards spot, where G2 bidded the highest amount after they missed out on franchising and the XSET roster from the year before after the G2 Carlos/ Andrew Tate drama

He mentioned Sayaplayer said to stick with the core but apparently he left the guard and joined T1 during 2022- 2023 transition period

I think you're misreading my paragraph, I said that all of the Guard except Sayaplayer decided to stick together instead of splitting up to go to various teams, I never quoted anything Saya said once

There was never any communication from Loud's side or any leaker saying it was because of his attitude but more because of his inability to speak english which got him removed from loud

He's grinding tier 2 right now. If he wasn't a hard worker he would just relax til 2026

just goes to show that fit matters most when it comes to developing players. There arent many differences between most tier one pros in terms of mechanic (obvs there are standouts) but the fit of a team matters most when it comes to success and letting players shine individually

if we see the lineup tho, they could actually work their way and become scary. But yeah, GE just choose to change player not even considering getting a better coach/some performance coach

Tenz went from the best player to touch the game, to the depths in sentinels 22/23 back to top of tier 1 in a different role. Not quite tier 2 but the comeback is crazy

in terms of ppl that specifically THRIVED after coming back to T1, patitek is the name that comes to mind on an individual performance level, zellsis technically went Sen > T2 > C9 > Sen again, and he came back and won a masters, magnum has also been kinda frying on BBL although his actual return year wasnt great cause he was IGLing and it didnt look good, i mean Yay technically went C9 > T2 > bleed > eg and hes looked .... good?
