apart from the G2 core, no ascension team has done consistently good
the closest you have is XLG who are getting absolutely run over since their Split 1 performance, DRG is shit
M8 are shit, Apeks and 2G horrendous
Boom did a fluke run under favorable circumstances and Nongshim Redforce is probably the most erratic team in APAC
and since they are only guaranteed for a year, its most likely that such teams would never get any chance for redemption as there is not enough time

Some of these aren't even right...XLG were the top team in their region before losing a player and I feel you can't blame their results after that on ascension...DRG are looking good in China as a playoff team. M8 and Nongshim are solidly middle of the pack in their region. G2 is the best team in their region. I wouldn't look at those results and say achieving things as an ascension team is imposslble and its a bad system
but staying in the middle of the pack is not gonna make them extend their stay so anything below champs qual would be considered 'bad performance' for the ascension teams
XLG case is different and we never saw their full potential because of important player change, but teams like 2G APEKS BOOM stand 0 chance at making playoffs and i would not even blame them, its the inherent pressure these players have to play under just so that they dont get relegated

sorta? the average stay of an ascension team should be close to 2 years for the new system to be equal to the old
T2 orgs have (before the guaranteed stay was lowered to 1 year) complained that 2 years werent really enough for it to make sense financially. 1 year is a joke obviously.
ascension is prob just there to encourage t2 players to play for the team instead of playing to get poached by a tier1 tteam
Mate XLG are 2-0 and did Terribly cuz they had a sub DRG do decent in the group stage every time M8 will get wins and 2G are improving
2G is competitive now, and Apeks looking a bit better, and BOOM is also and ascension team
