Which meta has been the best one?
imo there have been like 4 metas and i would rank them like:
(1) 2023 (Skye meta)- Most fun meta to watch with great competitive teams
(2) 2025 (current) - Finally valorant is at the point where we have teams that almost always have different comps and its fun to watch different playstyles
(3) 2022 (Chamber meta) - Fun to watch but chamber on all maps got kinda boring, still had fun games with players hitting insane clips
(4) 2025 (Tejo meta) - By far the most boring meta to watch and i dont think i need to explain myself

Gekko meta? Just cuz cgrs played gekko only doesnt mean he was meta. Call it skye meta instead
brother there was never a gekko meta wtf is this misinformation, there was a skye meta and double smokes meta and that was it
double smokes meta (viper/harbor + other controller) or just (viper + harbor) came from lock//in where skye had a low pick rate so this is false
If u look at where the top teams played double smokes its almost always with a skye, i dont think u can look at pickrates cuz some teams had legit NO idea what they were doing
loud who pretty made the double controller meta popular did run skye whenever they went double smokes but apart form loud it seems very 50/50 in terms of how often skye accompanies the double smokes.
also I would say this is a seperate meta as double smokes died down a bit at champs and yet skye was still chosen almost all the time even without the double smokes
Let me phrase it differently, running double smokes without skye outside of its main maps that r still played with it today (icebox split bind lotus) was bad. U still had options on those maps
2021 Jett meta where there were insane hyper carry duelist players who would always heavily frag and take over games.
I wouldn't say that, there's multiple strong archetypes at once but there's still mostly Viper double Controller, Yoru double duelist and double sentinel on a map-by-map basis, also pretty dependent on what players you have.
