that riot can implement in like 2027/2028/2029/2030 or something

I'll start with how champs spots can be implemented since I don't have a full idea on what I want the format to be
1 LCQ spot
1 champions points spot
2 playoff spots

EMEA: VIT, KC, FNC, TH/TL
AMER: G2, SEN, MIBR, 100T
PAC: T1, PRX, GEN, DRX
CN: EDG, XLG, WOL, NOVA

why is this lowkey peak though, seems realistic enough and actually fun to watch

I think it's bc it might disregard the performance of the teams who actually did well in the splits

What if the first seed was based off who had the most champions points

And then the 3 remaining seeds were who had the highest stage 2 placement

This isn’t crazy at all but I think it’d be cool if the overall best team was rewarded more than the current best team

wouldn't really fit the whole idea of seeding and having the CURRENT best team be seed #1. but interesting idea regardless imo

come to think about it, how has no one even thought of this idea until now

i feel like this doesnt really do much and its just cosmetic because there is no seeding at champs (except for group draws) and being first doesnt give you an advantage

nah seeding is pretty big
sen 4th seed had to play fpx, th, and geng
lev 1st seed had to play trace, vit, and talon

3 12 team masters events, each regional stage has a different format, champs points are only earned through masters events. top 12 teams in champs points globally goes to champs. last four spots are decided by regional lcq’s

12 team 1st masters, use the 2nd masters format this year (regional winners get swiss stage bye)
16 team 2nd masters swiss stage

25 team champs
full 25 swiss stage
16 teams qualify playoffs, 4 wins --> qual | 5 losses --> bye bye
playoffs single elim

Oh shit im stupid i said that completely wrong lol. i meant 20 since it was for 5 teams qualling and i calculated that with 5 regions not 4 regions total
Though now i just made it way more complicated. Idk ill figure something out but i wouldve loved to see a champs format with swiss stage which was my point in that post

Round robin 48 teams everyone plays everyone

Lock in style champs but triple elimination

6 games a day, 5 days a week

No longer who is the most tactical teamwork oriented, the best team is decided by who burns out last

Best team of each region for each master, if the same, take next best by placement (2 teams)
Next best team playoffs of each region (1 team)
Next best team by champs points (1 team)

So Bangkok (placement) and Toronto (placement) are
PAC - T1 (1) and PRX (1)
AMER - G2 (2) and SEN (5-6)
EMEA - VIT (4) and FNC (2)
CN - EDG (3) and WOL (3)

This is my shit that I imagine ,it's really bad tho logistically and cost wise for riot, here it is:

  • A lock in type event in Jan at start of every year ( yes single elimination until semi finals which are BO5 and finals which is BO5) consisting of all teams meaning 4*12 teams so 48 total teams play this.

  • Stage 1 - all teams play each other once in a random mixed way followed by 6 teams making it to playoffs.

  • Masters 1 - 12 team tourney and a 12 team swiss followed by single elimination BO5 playoffs.

  • Stage 2 - same as stage 1.

  • Masters 2- 16 team tourney and a 16 team wherein the top 4 get a buy into playoffs and 12 play in Swiss followed by normal double elimination playoffs format.

  • LCQ- to pick 2 extra team from every region to play in champs. Obviously single elimination.

  • Champs - every region sends 6 teams , 2 through top 2 , 2 through points and 2 through lcq, total 24 teams and thus 6 groups which 2 teams from each group

I loved the last year format where every team plays each other once. Though I would like to make one small change.
Teams for international (and winners) aren't chosen by their performance but by voting/stats. You can pick any of the following:

  • Voting from all viewers
  • Voting from all players
  • Voting from all on-air talent
  • Voting from co-streamers
  • Highest combined ASC
  • Highest combined Kills
  • Highest ASC on team
  • Highest kills on team
  • Most round wins
  • Most map wins
  • AI simulation of all the teams based on stats

Just my suggestions, feel free to give any feedback

"small change" ok first of all why this?

second, this basically ruins the whole point of rewarding teams who did well in the stage if they just fucking statpad

In my defense if they implemented any of these changes would you not say "That's crazy".

I did genuinely like the format of last (?) year where everyone played each other once, it meant every team had a solid record of win/loss against every team; It made it easier to compare teams and come up with your storylines. IMO.

Edit : I think voting would go crazy too cause then it would be about impressing a certain audience. On air talent? Have to perform good. Co-streamers? Memes and trolls. Viewers? Well... not much in game, but have to step up social media game.

I see

in terms of storylines this format would be cool

Thank you for seeing my perspective. I do enjoy any format in general as long as it is competitive and gives the teams a fair enough chance (Not a fan of BO1s, Single Elim etc. but I can tolerate).

same for me, BO1s and single elimination for me is tolerable AT LEAST.
