Should we start think about this

It's pretty clear that Valorant has lost popularity in EMEA and the Americas
This event is being held in North America and scheduled around Western time zones a complete nightmare for Asian viewers
That’s why Masters Toronto ended up with some of the worst viewership numbers ever even including Chinese audiences

We should seriously consider hosting 80% of future events in Asia
Western regions are clearly losing traction and without popularity there won’t be a new generation of talent Their teams are just going to keep declining

Honestly I wouldn’t mind if Riot rethinks the regional slot allocations in 2027
If EMEA and Americas can't win a single event in 2025 or 2026 (which looks very likely) just reduce their slots from 12 to 10 and give those extra spots to Pacific and China
That would be a smart move to strengthen the Eastern scene and grow the overall player base where the hype actually is

What do you guys think?

just keep it as it is, it ensures better competitiveness and avoids leagueification

I don't want any leagueification as well but considering the skill level of EMEA and the Americas teams I'm scare that might be the end

Do you have any sources on this? And if the problem is timezones just make all the tournaments in Europe, its good timezone for the West and the East

???? "emea and americas" are not winning for the next few years" just tells me u dont know jackshit about esports how are u so sure about that like u can look into the future. U never know what happens next in esports. nobody expected a prx fnc grandfinal champs could be a emea americas grandfinal because esports is unpredictable and moving fast most of the time

comeback here and knee to me when apac won EWC and Paris I can see level of the game "emea and americas" won't catch Asia up soon and considering young talent and tier 2 NA EMEA are more than f*ck they wouldn't not develop anything

#30

brother they are not losing popularity, people have one of the only team in apac that people like are prx, so americas and emea havent lost popularity, and if they reduced americas and emea slots, less people would like valoratn for doing that, more pros would prob stop want to play in that league and move to apac and cn, more people there less people would participate, and how would that look for valorant across other games, should they get more bullied than they already are by cs and other games, your logic here would just destroy val comp

As someone who follows CS2 closely, I really don’t think cutting regional slots in Valorant just because EMEA or the Americas aren’t winning right now is a smart move. In CS2, we’ve already seen what happens when the scene becomes too EU-heavy—NA, SA, and Asia basically vanished from Tier 1 events, and it’s made the scene feel smaller and less exciting overall. Sure, teams like The MongolZ are doing their best, but one team can’t carry an entire region. Taking away opportunities from weaker regions doesn’t help them grow—it just kills local interest, talent development, and investment. It also makes the scene harder to follow for fans outside of Asia, which matters for long-term viewership and sponsor interest.

EMEA - 10 apperances
NA - 8 apperances
SA - 3 apperances
PACIFIC - 6 apperances
China - 1 apperance

Yes the last 4 events were won by PACIFIC / Chinese teams but it doesn't seem like you are looking at the bigger picture. Especially since it wasn't dominant wins. Also as a european this masters was a disaster for viewing, I missed a ton of games due to the late playing times. And no I'm not hating on the idea because "I'm a EMEA fan". I enjoy watching other regions more due to the mechanical skills.

Pre Partnership vs Partnership

EMEA - 5 appearances vs 5 = SAME
NA - 4 appearances vs 4 = SAME
SA - 2 appearances vs 1 = DECLINE
PACIFIC - 1 appearance vs 5 = IMPROVED
CHINA - 0 appearance vs 1 = IMPROVED

Yes, even this shows perfectly how balanced the numbers are. Except for CHINA but tbh they will dominate the next years.

Also after partnership (LOCK//IN and forward) the average placements for teams of regions are the following:
Americas: 8.03 avg
China: 9.66 avg
EMEA: 9.69 avg
PACIFC: 10.64 avg

EDIT: Can't spell.
