It's been a long time since they added this but it has been confusing me since then. Why did they add the visual effect when a smoke is about to fade away in 1.5s?
It basically
- Removes the advantage of knowing that a smoke is fading by counting the seconds in mind, and
- Messes with players' view and hearing.
It has been several times when I shoot certain corners of a smoke because I thought it was someone's head popping out but turned out to be the white visual effect, and if I was with a vandal I often get counter-sprayed and just die. Also the extra sound when the effect shows up sometimes cover other sound cues such as jett drift/sentinel placing util/etc. Does it really cancels out the advantage you gain from being mindful or does it just not matter and I am thinking too much?
