Nah bruh. Navi is just one duelist move away.. Hiro shao ruxic are good enough.
It's just an off day. Happens to most players. Last day and the day before that he was playing so good.
0.93 rating so far in the tourney and prolly gonna be worse after this match is over 🥀
xeus has a 0.83 rating this event and people on this site were saying he's going to be the best player in the world during Stage 1
Unless we are erasing history, there were legit 2 games in stage 1 (or 3 if you count GiantX game) where he was "bad", those being KC and Heretics. He has been good. Is he the best? No, far from it. But he does the job. He was also the only one who showed up against Fnatic. The problem with this team is not how good or bad the players are, it's consistency except for Ruxic who has been really good the whole time. For instance, Hiro can be 3-14 one map and the next he can be 22-4. Same with Koalanoob and Shao. Koalanoob had the second highest fk:fd ratio too (after Kaajak). When NAVI win, it's because everyone else is oh so good, when they lose, it's because Koalanoob is bad.
Offday for kickoff & stage 1.Its nothing new. They can legit get top 4 with top duelist.
i think you didn't watch stage 1, he played awful almost in 90% of games
Not what happened. I think you are confusing stage 1 with Kickoff where he played horrible. Happens, new place, new team.
yeah this is an actual good team without a good duelist like if they signed that comeback kid they would easily get champions
the sad thing is they probably would've been able to give him more money than m8 too...
its a shame
idk, like I get what you mean but its not like hes an actual problem
aint special, but not horrible either
Id just rather not have another Polvi where hes perfectly fine compared to the team, but people get into their own heads and hate him because of it
sure he is not shit but if they had a top 5 duelist this team makes champs. Thats the point. People dont like wasted potential.
The Shao, ruxic, hiro core is proving too strong to waste. And ange1s calling has been great too
The Shao, ruxic, hiro core is proving too strong to waste
but genuinely has it?
Cause that was exactly what I was on about. Its a great core, perfectly suited for t1 and no team would be upset at having it, but is it better than TL, FNC or TH?
None of the 3 players are fragging out of their mind and we regularly see (the person I noticed, not saying hes the worst) ruxic making round losing mistakes early on.
Id just ask how TL is outperforming them when Kamo has had a worse split than Koala
Basically I think the team is looking really good, but I dont think anyone on the team is looking good enough that Koala seems out of place in the roster. The extremely negative focus on his individual performance is misplaced imo.
Frankly i dont think Liquid has a perfect roster either. They are getting carried by Nats/Keiko and one of the best coaching staffs in the world. This split they finished 3rd by having close wins over Navi and BBL. Liquid is not worlds ahead of Navi. Considering Ruxic, Hiro (just one split and champs) and koala are all rookies too. Especially the two turks are like freshly 19 years old. I imagine they will only improve with more experience at this level.
I would rather have those 3 Navi players than patitek or serial thats for sure. And Kamo also isnt exactly an irreplacable player for Liquid. At least he has proven to be competetive at Bangkok. Unironically ardiis is not wrong with his take on Liquid. He said they are like one or two roster changes away from being a champs winner. Currently they are simply behind FNC and Heretics.
And dont forget.... Navi had completely the wrong meta read at the start of the year and played with 3 rookies. They could attack the top spots and sneak into the 4th champs seed.
Lets me ask you this question. If you are Navi management and you want to make the next step to win masters...what do you do?
They are getting carried by Nats/Keiko
Ye and thats the point: they have players which are clearly the best on the team (stat wise)
NaVi doesnt

Perfectly valid, but not at all what Im talking about. I think navi is great, but im talking about relative individual performance of the players.
Im biased and want BBL ofc, but it wouldnt really be much of an upset if NaVi take it
Lets me ask you this question. If you are Navi management and you want to make the next step to win masters...what do you do?
Win masters is a very high bar. I frankly dont think anyone is on the level rn where I would be able to argue for them on my fantasy master winning roster.
That aside, the question is about who id replace first I assume: There is no un-replaceable player on this roster. I would be very against a change with Ange1 and I think its incredibly hard to replace Shao. The other 3 would be fair game and I think their internal preformance, as well as how their potential replacements do in that regard, would be the determining factor.
I personally would be replacing Koala first too, since I dont believe in wasting resources developing import rookies that you'll struggle to keep on the roster in the future. But thats not why people are upset.

Thats not entirely fair. Liquid is set up super well by the coaches. That makes it far easier to shine on an individual level as well and farm stats. Also once again... meta read. And....rookies. This is hiros and Ruxics first full year as a T1 pro. Keiko wasnt a superstar player in year one. Miniboo and Marteen were also struggling for a long time individually.
My point is those 3 are showing me enough promise on a team that obviously hasnt hit its ceiling yet to build on them for the future.

Fantasy rosters or all star teams are rather pointless to think about when every team is faced with market realities.I personally would be replacing Koala first too, since I dont believe in wasting resources developing import rookies that you'll struggle to keep on the roster in the future. But thats not why people are upset.
I think thats a big part why people are upset. If you import someone who isnt rocking the world despite having partcipated in bloody First Strike NA its just frustrating. Especially when the team feels like its on the cusp of something but not quite there and that someone is the worst rated non igl on the team....

So how do you know it would be those 3 that would shine if set up correctly and not Koala?
And....rookies
Koala is also in his rookie year. Any benefit of doubt your apply to them also applies to Koala. All of em had an above 1.4 rating game, so whats to say Koala cant develop like you think the other 2 can?

And that is exactly why I called it a Polvi situation.
It is wrong to blame the player for that; he has done nothing wrong.
He got an offer, took it and is now playing to a perfectly acceptable level compared to the rest of the roster.
You can be upset at the coaching staff for bringing him in (although I still think it is perfectly valid for happy to make this decision as a coach as described back here: https://www.vlr.gg/post/4173793/click).
[...] Especially when the team feels like its on the cusp of something but not quite there and that someone is the worst rated non igl on the team....
And while I disagree on it being a valid reason, this is probably correct. I believe him being an import is the bigger reason as to why hes in the spotlight THIS much, but its hard to deny that we do like dog-piling on the worst rated player on a roster
Let's not pretend that xeus hasn't been putting up Governor stats either
xeus has been worrying after the initial 3 weeks. You see his aim but the output isnt there currently...
Has a bad map and instant hate while he is probably the 2/3rd best player on the team this year
Youre just wrong
VCT stage one: Shao 1.07, Ruxic 1.06, Hiro 1.01, Koala 0.99
EWC: Hiro 1.26, Ruxic 1.17, Shao 1.14, Koala 0.93
dont use ratings to argue why koalanoob is bad especially considering the fact that he has had 2 great games and 2 bad games (in EWC) making his rating look like that.
my guy at some point enough games have been played to make a judgement call. His average rating across 35 maps is 0.975. this year. thats just straight up mid.
Comparison-> Hiro: 1.06, Shao 1.08, Ruxic 1.09
And the point is his teammates are on a huge upward trajectory lately. Feels like this team could do great things with a better duelist
That was just my perception after watching the games apparently hes .08 rating away from being their best player rating wise...that doesnt say too much also still doesnt prove why u should drop him
0.08 is a massive difference lol. Also "just 0.08 away from being their best player" lol. That mean he would have to jump all of his non-igl teammates...
Once again. He is not bad. Just mediocre. Call him the new icy
Icy was atleast working for G2.Koala is cooked. He is good enough for any na team in flex role. But nowhere near star duelist.
I feel like people don’t actually watch the matches and see score lines. I’m a fan of koala so very biased but he’s playing with comps that give him 0 support (ascent deadlock cypher, split double smokes, haven double senti etc) I do agree he needs to get more consistent because it’s been very average, but I feel like I’m seeing him need to tp, satchel everything dry and it seems like it must be so hard to play for him.
