M80 says fuck off to the VCT teams and keeps their core together = Contract jailing them, awful org, anti-player. No one will sign there agian.

M80 sells their players = has to leave the scene, don't have a team anymore, still lost money with no hopes of ascending.

Riot, why would any org want to be in your tier 2 circuit? Even when you make it to tier 1 one bad group stage draw can knock you out of VCT without even getting a chance at the ascension tournament.
