stop changing rosters

might just be me, but I feel like recently too many teams are changing rosters unnecessarily. Ig im just looking at DRX and Vitality but both of them I felt like could of gave their previous roster more of a chance. Vitality just won the region and came fourth in a pretty stacked masters and DRX also won their region and were building a nice young roster. Idk, I might just be wrong since teams like Gen G are working, but I feel as if some changes aren't warranted.

Am I missing something??? Plzzzzzz tell me

difference is VIT kicked trexx and went on a downward spiral

while Flashback left DRX bc he wants to take a personal break off of Valorant

but I do agree, teams are doing way too much roster changes and are doing even worse bc of it

I feel like teams don't understand how to actually make a successful roster that's why unless there's a prodigy on that team 90% of orgs go nowhere like only a few teams actually understand how to get success it's crazy

examples being NRG 2024 and VIT 2025. they just put ppl together without thinking about how theyre like as people as well as players. its so important to have something outside of the team/game, i feel thats why teams like SEN, MIBR, FNC, PRX, TH, G2 do so well (for the most part) is bcos they want them to actually be more than just team mates

i mean vitality was working imo until they got rid of trexx, and i think that roster was worth a try since they were all aimers
NRG tho, I think it was just unfortunate since D1 fell off unexpectedly and Marved was wayyy too out of his prime

all aimers but just didnt click w the personalities really. both had massive IGL issues along with roles too and not putting ppl on their comfort agents and trying to make them into something theyre not. Demon1 was never a hard entry for EG and when they did stuff they did it as a team and believed in the call from boostio. it just wasnt there on NRG. vitality only worked bcos its kick off, the same as NRG this year too, they look good but its just hero plays bailing them out of bad calls. the issues persisted and thats why we saw trexx get dropped but it caused more than it solved. role issues and still IGL issues. sayf doesnt take control of the round.

Yeah and you'll notice that for example fnc and G2 are orgs within a lot of games yet have successful teams in a lot of them there's something they do that some of these newer orgs are missing in order to be successful imo

eh, can never know whats going on inside a team, for all we know VIT was having arguments every day in scrims trexx was spending every second calling them all shit and actively sabotaging the team, since its been confirmed that it wasnt trexx's individual performance that was the reason for removing him we literally have NO insite to whether it was a good move

Very very rarely a team that maintains their roster does better in their second year than they did in their first. It's been a trend in Valorant with very little exceptions

I don’t entirely disagree but your examples aren’t really good cases of this. Flashback clearly has some issues and DRX (rightfully so) would rather be slightly worse than having to worry about their player just not showing up for the game.

Trexx (no matter on what side you might be on this issue) was clearly a ticking time bomb on vitality. The internal struggles wouldve let the team to collapse at some point. CyvOph is not a bad player by any margin and I still believe this was inevitable with or without change, I think Vitality were able to impress early in the year and meta when nobody really had a read and their individuals overpowered. Their big issue now is that other teams are just so far superior on a macro level that their individuals cant bail them out anymore and everything falls apart.

There is plenty of cases though were changes are just unnecessary and the teams would’ve probably looked better if they just took the time to work on their system. Liquid Kamyk seems like an obvious case here tbh. Their team isnt bad now by any means but Kamyk has just looked better than Serial. His inconsistencies could’ve probably been worked out in the time they took to integrate their new player.

maybe flashback wouldn’t have decided to take a break again if there’s wasn’t a 6th player on the team

Thats kind of heavy speculation though and even then it makes you question how committed he is tbh

thats what set apart the experienced team with inexperienced team

FNC, PRX, G2, TH, SEN been sticking long enough to keep representing the region

now you look at Liquid they keep changing roster no wonder they always bomb out of international despite having insane roster

some teams crumble mid season due to internal conflicts, think of NRG kickoff or Vit after kickoff. I dont know what kind of conflict can arise such that it forces a roster change but that's a common reason for midseason changes. Though generally i think teams should stick it out at least a year to grow

depends the org really, teams like DRX and VIT have looked worse after roster changes but look at RRQ and BBL

Ig but i mean teams that already look good are changing. Like RRQ and BBL weren't apart of masters, but DRX and VIT already had some kind of foundational success that I thought they could've built off of
