is EG 2023, not saying they are bad, easily one of the best teams valorant has ever seen but they werent even the best team of their own year, and be real, no they wouldnt be the number 1 team if they played right now, we see that teams improve year by year, 2023 is outdated. You can be a fan of the team without massively over glazing

I was replying to another guy and went to pick something up, is waiting that hard bro?

anyways

top 4 teams were:
FNC LOUD DRX NAVI
FNC EG PRX NRG
EG PRX LOUD FNC
-------------------------------------
at lock//in, FNC: 1 win - Navi (Loud had a rookie)
at Tokyo, FNC: 1 win - NRG (PRX and EG had a rookie)
at Champs, FNC: 0 wins

Now lets look at EG
at tokyo: EG 0 wins (prx had a rookie)
at champs: EG 2 wins - prx, Loud

so in total both teams beat 2 discounting rookies
fnatic beat 5 while eg beat 3 if you do count rookies
and if you dont count lock//in fnatic beat 4 still

comparing prx and loud to navi and nrg is shameless

just admit ur wrong and move on

the top 4 teams in 2024 were fnatic eg loud prx

fnatic beat none of these teams at their peak, and eg beat them both prx and loud at their peaks

#33

yet for all 4 of those teams you only consider champs, shameless behaviour

thats because when every team peaked (at champs) fnatic was fourth

they beat weaker teams earlier in the year with issues outside the server

they never beat prx fnc or eg because they were 100% better in the server

potter is a great coach, arguably best in the world even but 2023 is not peak valorant. if you argue "what if EG had stayed together and continued to improve" then I can see your argument of potter coming in

i mean yeah if you teleported them into the current era and gave them a month to acclimate they would get smoked

yeah, but thats the problem, some people genuinely think 2023 EG is the greatest peak a valorant team has peaked and that teams have only got weaker since, for some reason

that's delusion, madrid sen and geng would smoke them

it's absolutely not EG

the answer to this question will always ALWAYS be acend...

how were these guys allowed to be the first ever champions winners

Acend is not rated by anybody, everyone calls them frauds, so naturally they cant be overrated

i still think the quality of valorant was better in 2023.

2023 EG would probably be the best team itw at the moment

Can I hear why you believe the quality in 2023 is better? because to me it sounds completely braindead to me (no offense to you personally I just think its really stupid)

it sounds weird since one would think teams would improve over time but just from personal experience there was so few mistakes and amazing plays that it just felt like amazing valorant. Compare that to now where even the top teams make like 10 obvious mistakes each round.

u created ur account this year so im not sure if u watched 2022 and 2023 but it felt so much better in quality than last year and so far this year

The biggest difference is that the middle teams got good enough to punish the better teams, before a lot of mistakes will go unnoticed because simply put if you were at the very top of the ladder no one was good enough to push you to make many mistakes.

People have gotten way better at utility, way better at antistrating, way better fundamentals to the point that every round is hard to win. if everyone else is bad you will look much better than if everyone else was nearly as good as you.

Also ive been watching valorant since masters berlin I just didnt know about vlr and stuff

I feel like we won't have a definitive answer unless we have the same meta as 2023

talking hypotheticals is always tough because there is never a definitive or objective answer, even if we go back to the same meta I dont think it will solve allat but im glad we could have a good discussion. good day or afternoon or whatever time it is for you.

I more meant an answer/opinion that most people would have a higher confidence in. but yeah i agree

I explained this at #13 but no one actually rates acend highly for winning that tournament (at least I hope) so they cant be overrated
