here's a thought though:
Why is Ascent even more one sided this year? What has changed from before till now?

True, but wouldn't players also get better on Attack side? Unless something about the game changed...
The better players are, the more one sided a poorly made map will become. Same can be seen with Anubis in cs2 (extremely T sided map). If you assume both teams are playing optimally, then they will leverage any advantage they can. On Ascent, the defense are so favoured that if teams play it well, they can't lose.
Back when teams sucked, it wouldn't rly matter if one had an advantage or not, it was all simple utility and gunfights.
players are better and Vyse/Deadlock exacerbate problems Ascent already had and needed fixed.
Ascent needs changed, not the agents. It's the only map with this problem, the chokes are too strong. Icebox has the opposite because you can get site without a duelist. The next most one-sided is Lotus which is competitive enough still that it's fine, it just favours attackers in space control a bit. Ascent right now is "defense wins until you use ults good", no point playing it as is. Remove and fix ASAP.
Icebox has a lot of issues too but it's gameplay while boring at least boils down to being more drilled that your opponents rather than just ult or lose.

ascent was in a cool place before it got removed last year imo, with deadlock and weird comps going.
