Sometimes I wonder how NA teams would do if Kickoffs, Stage 1, Stage 2 were held in a LATAM country instead of in Los Angeles.

visa issues. instead of recycling washed br talent we could have people like basic in vct
The crowd and fans matter a lot, gives energy to the players and teams.
If it didn't matter for a high stakes tournament why would it matter for a less important regional league? Fnatic also had the crowd against them during lock in 23 and they also ended up winning. Crowd support has miniscule impact. Korean teams didn't even make top 4 in champs seoul despite 2 attending. Imo if a tier 1 professional team needs a crowd to win games they don't have the mental resilience to deserve to win in the first place.
not too much tho, they won but Karon and other GenG players complained about toxicity towards them just bcs they were playing for GenG
but in the end none of it mattered because they won and proved the haters wrong
geng shanghai? you mean the team with the most loved players by the cn community?
bro chinese fans hated geng at first before eventually warming up to them
I'm interested to know of these fans bc most of the backlash was on the org saying stupid shit not any of the players
and because the players play for the org they were initially treated very poorly
of course it wouldn’t matter bc valorant players aren’t human beings lol surely gameplay is never influenced by outside circumstances
try living abroad, away from family, friends, gf/bf, on a gaming house, different culture, food, language...
It’s the same with Korea, their teams have an innate advantage over Southeast Asians
Riot held the VCT Americas in LA and put the stupid age restriction so South America would never touch a trophy again
and somehow we still managed to win 2 regional leagues
people dont get how hard its to get far away from your family and friends to focus on playing for a whole year on a country full of people who dont speak your language and a culture that you dont understand so you are barely going to go outside, and you have to live with 4 pc players with 0 social skills, thats why becoming friends with your team its more important than people think
Why is this such a big talking points for south Americans but not for Europeans or asians?
australia is closer to korea than brazil is to usa, that also leads to a bigger difference in culture and language barrier, on asia there are good schools anywhere where you can learn other languages, on latin america you cant learn another language simply by going to school, youll have to learn on your own, move to another country to learn, or pay a private teacher.
Europe is much smaller, has more similar cultures, and every non-german has to deal with it mostly the same.
It is a talking point in APAC. Korean teams DO have an advantage and a Korea-only platform has exclusive rights to T2 Apac, giving them a chokehold there too.
Agree, even crowd matters, just look at pacific ascension 2024, boom down 0-2 but the crowd cheers are still so crazy
cry, thats how sports works any major league works. its a business and its what they signup for
No? Every team plays at home sometimes in every major sport what the fuck are you talking about
its how it works when ur in the top league idiot, thats why korea walks tln
icl NA already underperforms in NA. They getting cooked in LATAM I fear.
It's funny when NA is losing and SA is winning they all make fun of NA but when the reverse is happening they give the dumbest excuse known to man.
NA would still clear lmao they're legit getting paid to play the game lol. The venue of the event has no effect or should have no effect when you're being paid $20k a month to play a game
Im definitely playing worse if I have to leave NA to go play in Lagos for 2 months idk
good, better general league environment translates well to lower tiers, but for some reason NA with all that riot daddy money can't win ascension vs some 5 month brazilian team with 2 kids
People talking about culture, language etc... The problem is getting working visas. It takes months. Loud got stuck on Ireland and didn't trained last year, furia this kickoff used a sub team on their first game etc. The brazilian teams can't just replace their players, because it takes long for the visa. Europe dosen't have this problem, pacific is less than USA. And now with crazy orange guy, this can get even worse.
