When i become good the game might as well be dead, is chess viable? Like i become gm in 10 years, so until the rest of my life i will be good or smth like that

19, my peak was immortal when i played chamber, he got nerfed i went down to asc, played until last year, download the game a few weeks ago, got plat 2 in md5, realized i became washed, so i gave up
i dont play chess.com im scared i could become addicted, i play irl in a chess school idk the name of that, started like 6 months ago
Got friends that play chess since 6 years old, they arent gm tho, shits hard
As a plat 2 almost plat 3 that's gonna be a pro in a year I say that you can do it
19 years old 😹 bro u are so washed, might as well retire and cash in your 401k
Pandemic and shit i was playing 5 hours a day, then college came, never reached past asc again, after last year everything went down hill, i wish i sticked to bjj i was purple😭, fuck pandemic
I think 19 too old to become good at things like sports, esports, martial arts
That's prime after you've spent your whole life training you can't be high level and compete without the years of experience everyone else has
Average age in champions rn is 22 bro chill, doesn't take your prime for you to learn how to aim
bro get a stable job, pros dont make shit unless they work for an org like sentinels and/or are big streamers, and chess pros dont make shit without sponsors nad having a big following. only like 1 out of 900 people make it to this big rich famous personality, the rest are flipping burgers at mcdonalds
Im good with math and shit, but i wanted to be high level at something, thats why im willing to play val, chess idk
nothing wrong with flipping burgers at mcdonald’s that’s more than 95% of this forum can say they do
Ong I'd flip burgers if the managers didn't stuck ass 60% of the time and the past was better
Might as well play showdown thing about pokemon is that after gen 6 it became too gimmick, gen 9 full of powercreeps
not vgc, tcg. in sword and shield era tcg had so much power creep it was unplayable, but the game is in a good spot rn
EU/LAS/BR, well i tried to play on EU atleast but i need to focus there on college, so mostly LAS, back in pandemic i used to play in br when i was on uruguay, its nicer
Is 19 really too old?. Aren't most pros (incl. t2) like 22-24ish, I reckon if you spent the time you could easily get trialed for a t2 team in 2 years or so
I think the median (average is skewed because fns is 100000) is like 20
But don't forget that they have spent much of their lives practicing and perfecting their techniques and mechanics, they didn't randomly go pro after a hitting immortal once; many were stuck in t2 and t3 hell.
True, I wonder if you gave an average person (say like at 20 years old) like 4 hours a day just to improve, how long it would take them to reach a t1 pro level
Esports dont make money
Unless you started early or have passion for it and willing to fail at the end
For some people its a hobby turned to a serious job
Chess is a hard ass game but hey it doesn't have an age limit
Goodluck
