LEVIATÁN defeats MIBR in statement 2-1 victory

The first qualification match was a rematch from week four of the group stage, which went 2-1 the way of MIBR. This time, with a completely different map veto, LEVIATÁN exacted revenge on MIBR and sent them down to the lower bracket.

Momentum favored LEVIATÁN in the first half of MIBR's pick of Split. Led by the Duelist duo of spike on Neon and Sato on Phoenix, LEVIATÁN converted the bonus and consistently won out teamfights in Mid for an 8-4 attack.

One of MIBR's four defense rounds stemmed from a 0.03 second defuse 1v2 from zekken .

MIBR quickly drew even with a bonus conversion of their own. The score went back-and-forth, climbing from 8-8 to 9-9 to 10-10, but after a timeout from head coach Onur , LEVIATÁN broke through the deadlock with three consecutive rounds to win 13-10. Sato and spike were the top fraggers with 22 and 21 kills respectively.

Despite it being MIBR's first showing on LEVIATÁN's map pick, Fracture was pure MIBR domination. With LEVIATÁN lacking a Sentinel to gain passive information around the map, MIBR appeared completely comfortable taking open sites and fending off the opponent's aggressive pushes, chaining eight rounds in a row for a 8-0 start. LEVIATÁN managed a minor recovery with four rounds at the end of the half, but the attack side proved no better for them as MIBR ran away to a 13-4 victory. aspas accumulated a server-high 19 kills and 190 ADR on Jett.

The final map was Ascent, a map neither team had yet shown. LEVIATÁN continued to lean into their established identity with Neon, Phoenix, and Chamber picks, while MIBR surprised with a single-Duelist, Sage-Vyse composition.

LEVIATÁN's preparation ruled the day; despite the wealth of Sentinel utility at their disposal, MIBR struggled to stop the opponent's site hits, leading to an 8-4 advantage for LEVIATÁN on their attack. Mazino won a 1v1 for the pistol to give MIBR a glimmer of hope, but spike quickly snatched it away with a 3K in round 17 and a 4K in round 19 to pave the way for a LEVIATÁN 13-7. The South American squad's Neon finished the map with 23 kills and 311 ACS.

spike opens and closes the round to bring LEVIATÁN up to 12.

With this win, kiNgg and Onur make their returns to the global stage, reinforced by four young talents seeking to prove themselves against the world. MIBR will have to take the long way if they hope to join them; their next match will be against the winner of 100 Thieves versus LOUD on Sunday, May 17.

G2 outdoes KRÜ in 2-0 fashion

The second match featured a rising G2 facing off against the Group Omega first seeds in KRÜ for the first time since 2024.

The series kicked off on Lotus, a map where both teams had enjoyed much success in this stage with Viper-Vyse compositions. Both teams showed off their comfort on the map in the first half, which ended 7-5 in favor of KRÜ following a 1v2 clutch from Less .

The second half started with total chaos. valyn pulled off a 1v2 to win G2 the pistol, but KRÜ immediately followed up with a ridiculous full eco round to go up 9-6.

Less outwits jawgemo to win the eco for KRÜ.

From there, however, G2 gradually took the reins, working their way up to a 10-10 scoreline and grinding out to a 13-11 win with a clean 4K from trent . Less had the most kills by a sizable margin with 27, but it wasn't enough for his team to take the map.

trent takes G2 over the line on Lotus.

Going over to Breeze, KRÜ switched up their composition from their last showing in week one, going from Chamber and Omen to KAY/O and Harbor. Starting on the attack, KRÜ found success off the back of Less' lurks and back-to-back 1v2s from mwzera , while G2 countered with strong retakes to make the half 6-6.

The rest of the map was all G2—the North American squad mounted an unstoppable attack with constant site hits and clean postplants to take it from 6-6 to 13-7.

LEVIATÁN and G2 will clash in the upper final on Friday, May 22, hunting for Masters seeding and the Americas crown. Only one Masters London spot remains up for grabs; MIBR and KRÜ join the fray in the six-team lower bracket for the coveted final berth.

Americas playoffs will continue tomorrow with two elimination games:
