im not saying you cant have a negative view, its very natural to have one. im just saying that you should keep it in your mind, when actually interacting with chinese fans. I see far too much racism these days.
Theres a million different threads out there. But heres my input as someone deeply part of that community.
First of all, this is not surprising, Chinese fans are extremely toxic, even back at home, when EDG lost to an international team. Their "fans" would send an incredible amount of toxicity and threats to their own team/players. this is just what happens when sports culture is normalised. This is very commonly seen in Korean esport fanbases as well
Second, you have to stop treating the org/players as the same as the fans. There is so many people saying why EDG havent made a statement. When the literally have. like legit its not the org/players fault what others do, especially after calling it out
third, the racism on racism is dumb. just because chinese fans are racist, doesnt mean the turkish fans should be racist. At the end of the day its just a dog biting another dog. yall are both disgusting.
fourth, the boo'ing/silent crowd or whatever is not a big deal. that makes esports fun, having a villain to root against is fun as well. so you should be allowed to boo/stay silent. its what made that lock//in final partly so good. seeing the brazallians dissapointment. same thing applies for geng in shanghai. the london crowd is good.
fifth obviously the fut players did nothing wrong, not more to comment
sixth keep in mind theres millions, literally millions of VCT CN fans. just like other fanbases, when it gets too big, there will be weird people, its inevitable. theres just a loud majority because hate is easier to spread and see.
