I been wondering why +- in KD doesn't allow me to be MVP. I could go 23 kills and 7 deaths and the MVP on my team will be the 19 kills and 20 deaths duelist. I just don't get it.

unless you’re site anchor on defense you are just straight up getting bait/no impact kills
You mean playing smart is bad? I'm a sentinel/controller what do you want me to do? Rist first contact and lose utility value that can help the team in mid/late rounds?
I literally said “unless you’re a site anchor”
senti and controller are usually site anchors for those exact reasons….
we are agreeing here
Even as a site anchor you sre normally playing to get the first or second kill right? So wouldn't acs be higher?
You expect a site anchor to always get the first kill? First of all you can only anchor a single site and you just have support util for the other site/s. 2nd, site anchors cannot rotate early and they can't die early without utilizing utils first depending on the value that it brings. Site anchors usually be the last one alive to clutch the round since they are the last one to rotate if enemy is smart enough to not commit to setups/traps especially if the site anchor is good (I'm not bragging but as I said I am usually the highest kda, more kills, less deaths).
But if they all rush your site aren't you first contact because you would be playing on site? Sure they won't hit the same site 12 times in a row but at least half of the time, you will need to get at least the first kill right? Or do I anchor sites incorrectly?
Yeah but how often would an enemy team rush your site? This is why I get high kills and less deaths because I utilize my utils and I have decent aim. But you can only do too much as a sentinel and controller.
u get more acs if its fb, plus assists gives. I also think doing damage also gives but im not exactly sure how they calculate it.
Match MVP only takes ACS into account.
Go to your career and open any random ranked match. On the Scoreboard tab, hover over the ACS column. That'll give you the exact formula to it.
So if you realy care about match mvp, you can now adjust your playstyle to maximize ACS.

Getting a lot of entries would help you, just make sure you have the most kills + don't kill low hp enemies all the time, otherwise K/D won't matter if your ACS is low
It should also be noted though that ACS is purely cosmetic. The hidden MMR adjustment after a game is independent from your ACS and has much more complex mechanisms behind it.
FK/FD matters a lot in the ACS calculation which is what determines match MVP
That's not how ACS works. Winning an important 1v1 clutch gives you 70 points (+points for damage or bonus if it's a multikill). Getting first blood and then immediately dying with no space created whatsoever gives you 150 points (+damage).
ACS doesn't measure impact.
Just because ur kills happen late game that doesnt mean they dont have an impact ......
It's because it's based on ACS, and generally, entry agents have more chances to get higher ACS if they play well than controllers/sentinels who play well. ACS kinda favors duelists and flash initiators, but you can try to get a higher ACS as a sentinel or controller by getting first kills on defense with a oneway smoke or a setup, but it's harder than getting first kills with an operator on defense.
first blood, more clutch, more damage ( not just kills tags) all contribute to a better acs
MVP depends on acs
if u dont play duelist then ur fb% will most likely be low , fb gets higher acs
Also if u play controller ur kills will mostly be end game postplant retake type kills which happens when less enemies r alive so less acs per kill
