My guy is has a deep-rooted psychological obsession in creating conflict where you put more effort into creating conflct than you do avoiding it. I'm curious why this is.

Perhaps you have some vicarious traumatization in your childhood where you felt as if you've lost some sense of control. Where your parents strict? Enforcing rules that you disagreed with?

Maybe you find some semblance of power and control which are things you crave when you create conflict. As if you're the ringmaster of the altercation?
