"I'm still under contract and in ongoing talks with Gentle Mates about my future for 2027, but I've been given permission to explore other opportunities," he said. He also shared that he is open to opportunities as an IGL or secondary caller in the Controller and Initiator roles.

Currently, starxo is one of five players on Gentle Mates' six-player roster with a contract that is listed as expiring at the end of the 2026 season, according to VCT's Global Contract Database.

starxo has been in and around professional Valorant for years. He stayed with Acend through 2022, and then joined KOI in 2023 as VCT entered its partnership era. He joined the Mates last offseason, shortly after it was announced that the org would be granted a partnership slot following KOI KOI Inactive 's removal from VCT EMEA. On a new-look squad, starxo helped Mates reach its first-ever international event in Masters Santiago thanks to a second-place finish at EMEA Kickoff. Despite that early success, M8 was one of the teams hit hardest by Valorant's now-infamous Yoru nerfs, failing to find that same level of form with 5th-6th and 13th-16th finishes in regional play.
