Doesn't matter I guess because it's a mickey tourney but losing to a team that won't even make champs sucks

they played good , but honestly with nrg making this far in the tourney after being so burnt out i hope they rest well before the stage
Aminbg02 [#3]they played good , but honestly with nrg making this far in the tourney after being so burnt out i hope they rest well before the stage
ahh yes so burnt out while not making london playoffs. props to nrg they played well but that is just NOT true
at least heretics were competitive internationally for a year, 100t are genuinely a fluke who got lucky that the best team itw (LEVIATAN) isn't here because they lost in online qualifiers BEFORE they won, so its not even a tournaments with the best teams currently, its the best teams in an online qualifier two months ago
CaxTonYT [#4]ahh yes so burnt out while not making london playoffs. props to nrg they played well but that is just NOT true
im not saying they lost this cus of the burn out my guy 100t played better

KEIKO (EWC FINALIST AND MVP): ewc doesnt count for me https://youtu.be/jtM85wipVa8?t=1089
benjyfishy (EWC WINNER): So finally winning something was very special.
But for me, EWC is not the same as VCT. My ultimate goal is to win an international trophy, or at least a major regional one.

Aminbg02 [#3]they played good , but honestly with nrg making this far in the tourney after being so burnt out i hope they rest well before the stage
Yeah they played well, but it I'm being honest, 100t isn't gonna make champs. Lev, NRG, G2 are all gonna make it through points and all 3 of them will eliminate 100t when Americas playoffs comes around
jixk [#12]its a s tier event can we stop calling every non vct event mickey
Been calling it mickey even if we won. Because you call it what it is
Liam2x [#11]Yeah they played well, but it I'm being honest, 100t isn't gonna make champs. Lev, NRG, G2 are all gonna make it through points and all 3 of them will eliminate 100t when Americas playoffs comes around
good thing that we got the easier group ,idk how the points situation is tbh tho
Liam2x [#14]Been calling it mickey even if we won. Because you call it what it is
genuinely asking how is ewc not a s tier event all T1 teams international high prize pool every team is trying it is literally valorant's equivalent of dreamhack/ESL we need to stop calling every non vct event mickey (not worth watching) because it gives us more events if every non vct event is mickey no events will ever pick val up
Aminbg02 [#3]they played good , but honestly with nrg making this far in the tourney after being so burnt out i hope they rest well before the stage
Imagine saying burnt out when you get max 4-5 international tourneys, these people come from CS where there is a LAN every 2-3 weeks.
jixk [#18]genuinely asking how is ewc not a s tier event all T1 teams international high prize pool every team is trying it is literally valorant's equivalent of dreamhack/ESL we need to stop calling every non vct event mickey (not worth watching) because it gives us more events if every non vct event is mickey no events will ever pick val up
it’s the fact that a lot of players and coaches don’t view EWC as prestigious as the riot held events. im sure few teams really tried but i doubt most prepared as much as they would for masters/champs
thatpower [#20]it’s the fact that a lot of players and coaches don’t view EWC as prestigious as the riot held events. im sure few teams really tried but i doubt most prepared as much as they would for masters/champs
great riot held events are S+ the peak of the game u won a trophy/ring if u win a vct event they are closer to CS majors
still doesn't make ewc not s tier again it literally has all the factors of a S tier event and again is the equivalent of a dreamhack/ESL which are S tier events the next best thing to the peak of the game like a masters/champs win
jixk [#21]great riot held events are S+ the peak of the game u won a trophy/ring if u win a vct event they are closer to CS majors

the only thing s tier about this is the money

Online qualifiers, single elimination, LEV wasn't part of it, low view count, and no champs points which are important for the most important tournament of the entire year.
The only thing that's S Tier about this tournament is the prize pool which just devolves the tournament into a cash grab.
he4venn [#22]the only thing s tier about this is the money
so a international tourney on lan with all T1 teams who are trying isn't S tier so what is s tier
again it is the equivalent of dreamhack/ESL/(insert non major/ring s tier event in other esports) the next best thing to a major (masters/champs) which objectively is S tier its only flaw is production mishaps single elim is completely okay for a non vct event
Liam2x [#14]Been calling it mickey even if we won. Because you call it what it is
yeah NRG, G2, PRX, Vitality all mickey teams.
jixk [#24]so a international tourney on lan with all T1 teams who are trying isn't S tier so what is s tier

as u said non vct event that in itself is mickey, not to mention no points which are needed for champs, single elim, lev aren't even here, online qualifiers,
notice how the ones winning this are teams that cant win a vct event 😭
but the money is s tier so yeah ewc is truly s tier cash grab
charisu [#23]Online qualifiers, single elimination, LEV wasn't part of it, low view count, and no champs points which are important for the most important tournament of the entire year.

Online qualifiers are completely fine for a non vct event (non major/ring events in other esports have online qualifiers too im pretty sure)
you want champs points for a tourney completely not associated with vct circuit??? this why no organizers pick up val no wonder
LEV choked qualifying it happens
all the co-streamers had a good view count
so that leaves single elim which is valid imo i think its fine for non vct events cause upsets are fun
but regardless it is the val equivalent of a dreamhack/ESL it has all the factors of a S tier event all tier 1 teams on LAN with a group stage and a single elim playoffs and with that prize pool the teams were 100% trying it is the next best thing to a masters trophy so objectively speaking it is s tier aside from production mishaps there isn't a reason it isn't
jixk [#18]genuinely asking how is ewc not a s tier event all T1 teams international high prize pool every team is trying it is literally valorant's equivalent of dreamhack/ESL we need to stop calling every non vct event mickey (not worth watching) because it gives us more events if every non vct event is mickey no events will ever pick val up
You cannot call an event a major if the best team in the world currently isn't even playing in it. EWC is equivalent to winning Americas final, not a masters or champs
he4venn [#26]as u said non vct event that in itself is mickey, not to mention no points which are needed for champs, single elim, lev aren't even here, online qualifiers,

no sorry non vct event doesnt mean not s tier that is not how esports works unfortunately the next best thing to a major(the absolute peak of the game masters/champs) is S tier unless ur baiting ofc then every event is mickey unless ur team wins it
online qualifiers for a non vct event is fine as long as the event itself is on LAN with all T1 players who are trying and they are trying LEV choked the qualifiers upsets happen
u want champs points in a completely different event??? is this ur first day on earth
yeah that is because of single elim again ewc isn't equal to a masters/champs it is lower then that but that isn't saying much because a masters/champs is the PEAK of the game meaning it is still S tier
u guys also lost to fut chill its not ez to keep winning after becoming world champs
Liam2x [#28]You cannot call an event a major if the best team in the world currently isn't even playing in it. EWC is equivalent to winning Americas final, not a masters or champs
it isn't a major it is the next best thing read before typing masters/champs is the peak of the game the next best thing with all T1 teams on lan with a group stage and playoffs IN season is S tier
ewc is the equivalent of a dreamhack/ESL/(insert any s tier non trophy/major event here or the next best thing) which aren't majors but they are the next best thing to a major which is S tier cause majors are the absolute peak of the game which is S+

I just can't take tournaments seriously when qualifications are done online. But I guess that argument will become moot next year.
I brought up champs points as an argument because the qualifiers ended literally days before Masters London started and EWC was scheduled right between London and Stage 2. Teams will always prioritize VCT and the EWC scheduling directly messes with that. If EWC was scheduled better, or even turned into an off-season event, then it wouldn't have the asterisk of teams using EWC to experiment and gain high level reps for VCT.
Just another asterisk to EWC. We can't claim the tournament was highly competitive when we didn't have our current winners participating.
EWC is an international event but had similar, if not worst, viewercount as regionals.
It sounds like you're at least not equating this event to a Masters or Champs event, so I can agree with you that it's similar to DreamHack at most. So like an S Tier mickey.

you do know 2 teams qualify through qualifying and 2 through points so that means 100t can def make it through points if they were to be eliminated by these teams

NS won santiago and LEV choked the qualifiers it happens all the best teams were at ewc except 1 that is a good ratio ngl
the scheduling as whole this year has been kinda wack with VCT focusing more on 27 then anything like CN had 3 weeks of extra prep for london im pretty sure there were other issues too
most if not all teams would be fully prepped days before london starts the qualifiers placement is non factor unless ur entire map pool is cooked i dont see any team experimenting on lan days before stage 2 worst case scenario ur using EWC to polish ur play and test ur self against the best from each region its too good not to fully try at it
it barely has a asterisk it is a s tier event only mickey thing about it is group stage production

There shouldn't even be a ratio if you want a tournament to be taken seriously. Masters/Champs qualifiers are LAN and span weeks for teams to improve so the current best teams of each region can qualify. EWC qualifiers were online with no streams, were held in one weekend days before London started, and used an old patch that London-bound teams won't be playing on. LEV literally used the EWC qualfiiers to practice a potential comp for London instead of taking it seriously.
The schedule this year is similar to last year and CN usually has more prep time before internationals, not just London. I don't see how that disputes my argument that EWC's schedule is terrible.
London used a newer patch than Stage 1 and EWC qualifiers. Given that teams still had to travel to London and had to do a media day, the EWC qualifiers happening immediately after Stage 1 and ending days before London directly interferes with their prep time.
worst case scenario ur using EWC to polish ur play and test ur self against the best from each region
So you agree that teams used EWC to prepare for Stage 2.
The fact you need to convince people EWC isn't mickey makes the tournament mickey. Non-mickey events don't need people trying to convince others they're not mickey. And I have yet to see a solid argument that makes EWC more than the mickey cash grab that it is.

objectively speaking it is a event with all T1 teams on LAN in season and all the teams are trying all the best teams qualified except for 1 that is the equivalent ESL/dream hack it is a s tier event comparing it to the peak of the game majors(masters/champs) doesn't prove anything again those are S+ tier peak of the game
i dont agree that teams used EWC to prepare for stage 2 i said AT WORST if u for some reason dont care about placing well and a chance to beat the best teams from every region ur trying ur hardest and using it to to get reps on ur already prepped strats for stage 2 so every single team was trying there hardest
the qualifiers are online with a short span are completely fine since london's meta was still Neon meta+phoenix who was already getting insane play in stage 1 it was still double duelist meta every knew that coming in also LEV literally tried a singular comp once on lotus cause they didn't even have a comp for it because they never played it other then that there comps didn't change as for stage 2 we will see if it actually affected there prep i highly doubt it
what i am trying to convince people of is to stop calling every single non-vct event mickey the fact that i need to convince them of that proves only proves why no event organizers will pick val up cause no matter what they do they will be called mickey mouse tourneys that aren't worth watching

EWC having T1 teams doesn’t prove anything when other mickeys like RBHG also had T1 teams playing. You can’t say the best teams qualified when the qualifiers were terrible.
You can’t claim EWC had the best teams from every region when it didn’t have all the London teams. You can’t claim every single team was trying their hardest when CN Stage 2 started before EWC ended so their teams needed to leave early. Teams gained good reps from EWC so yes they did use it to prepare for Stage 2.
No, having qualifiers be online and lasting only a few days is not fine and still directly interfered with teams’ prep time. Players have literally said how teams in group stage had very little time to prepare for London because of EWC.
I can see where you’re coming from and I would like to see more events as well. But trying to ignore or minimize all the criticism surrounding EWC won’t convince people to take it seriously or make it more worthwhile to watch. The organizers should actually address the issues and fix them.
