Sen not practicing?

In this Yay clip, he said that Sen only started seriously practicing last week - partly because Tenz has been moving.

And like - they could have snuck some practice in, Yay could be wrong, etc - but I'm worried Sen won't qualify since NA is looking so stacked rn. An unpracticed Sen just doesn't seem as solid as the current level of competition.

Edit: this got more attention than I thought it would. Just want to add that I do hope SEN perform well, and there's no way to really predict any team's performance till we see the closed qualifiers.

SEN not practicing (enough) is a given and no one should be surprised at this point

U know what they say, practice makes perfect, and streaming ain't practice.

You're underestimating SEN because they lost in Champions but when you think about it, the teams they lost to were Team Liquid and KRU who are literally top 4 in the world.
I think that in NA, SEN is still the best team.
You said "NA is looking so stacked right now" well name 1 NA team that can compete with Team Liquid/KRU/Acend/Gambit right now

they lost a whole map to furia and looked bad on masters too...

They were 3 rounds away from beating TL, as much ss I love TL they almost lost on Split because they dropped spike in mid, if dapr wouldve ran away or killed the second person SEN wouldve broken TL's economy. Also SEN lost twice against KRU after a 8-4 half

C9 prolly + we dont know how any of these "top 4" teams will play and adjust to in the current meta.

C9 lost to Fnatic what are you saying

So did they to liquid, I am talking about the potential to beat them, instead of the one or 2 games they ever played with each other. Which btw are almost all extremely close games with both teams on double digits.

C9 lost 2-0 to TL and they still will any day of the week if they played again
NA is extremely far behind compared to EU there's no comparison here

Dont forget your own flairs legendary games against the EMEA teams including the Masters 3 winner AND the world champions(albeit not the same roster anymore). I think NA and EMEA are closer than most people think.

So? SEN 3-0ed Fnatic in Iceland but no one saw it as a sweep because all maps had a 2 round differential. C9 and TL were very even - it came down to one or two rounds which turned the whole match.

I do agree, except that I don't think that there really is a consensus best team in NA right now

#14

I'm not even talking about international level - I think with the level of play we've seen this open qual, any of these 12 NA teams could beat each other and Sen. A lot of them have new rosters, a lot of them have been grinding incredibly hard, and I think this could be a very tough qualifier for Sen.

In my opinion, other than the 3 invited teams (C9, NV, 100T) there's no other team that will beat SEN

They lost to envy in Masters yes
But you're basing this off of 1 match
SEN vs NV head to head match up is 7-2 in favour of SEN

SEN not qualifying is the best literal thing that can happen to them, as that will either lead to roster changes, or a complete training/practice dynamic change, we'll see tho, if they manage to put up a good show even after not having practiced AS MUCH as other teams, then we got a strong contender, otherwise, fluke

and due to the second clip we know that the problem aren't only Shaz and Sick, but mainly T0nz cuz they literally couldn't prac due to him 'moving around' LMAO

despite the fact Shaz is rat and really annoying guy, I feel bad for him cuz everyone will blame him mainly, not other players + shaz is an IGL, poor guy))

T0nz go for content creation again men, stop ruin tier1 team))

Double W. W for the practice and W for their streaming career. Seriously, if only they could do that without revealing strats to the public it would be fun to watch.

Cuz the competition is pretty close compared to previous seasons, Tier 1/ tier 2 is becoming very close as everyone is improving.

#45

To me, it looks more like tier 2 is improving and the 1 falling off, resulting in a lower overall level. But we'll see, I hope I'm wrong

I honestly think it's a mix of both. Honestly, the teams I have the most CONFIDENCE in this year are Envy, Cloud9, XSET, (Maybe 100T?) just because I never hear about them flaking on practice/scrims and fucking around the entire time. I think as more agents/maps are added these teams who work the hardest will outclass some of these teams with more "Talent" like SEN. (I even heard recently that SEN pushed back a team's scrims by 2 hours because they made a mistake with scheduling which seems absurd.) Also, a team like AKREW had some mickey mouse wins but they were still a group of FA friends who decided to team up and I respect how much they grind and change comps according to the meta to be the best and I honestly think that's why despite having less talent they are able to beat teams like TSM, Pioneers, Complexity.

#55

I don't think it's even about teams falling off. The tier 1 teams set a bar, and every team that qualified either reached that bar or went above it. It's all about teams adapting to each other, and I'll be really interested to see if Sen, 100t, Envy, and C9 will have that level of adaptation in the closed qualifiers.

at this point Tarik seems to be the biggest winner in NA:

  • have consistent/solid viewer count
  • funny chat interactions
  • no playing for pro teams so no pressure at all
  • can play any game and no one will criticize him
