imo, the debate is more or less between aspas, chronicle and alfajer
Probably due to firepower, most of the players ranked highly are considered “The Guy” when it comes to top fragging or carrying the team. Like no one is thinking Boaster despite being one of the best igls of all time; probably the same argument is applied for Ethan.
Right now, people will think it’s one of Keiko, Mada, or Brawk to be the dominant force for the team on NRG.
Likewise on EG, it was Demon1 and Jawg.
Yea but for Boaster despite Ethan having 10x his fire power is 10x hated so idk.
He’s a pretty solid guy too
It’s just weird to me that he’s hated and his accomplishments are so undervalued js bc he isn’t flashy or whatever
People remember Brawk’s odin dominance, KK’s mastery of OPing, Demon1 breaking the kill record as a fresh rookie, it’s just that Ethan doesn’t have much mechanical feats that people remember.
Basically Ethan’s gotta be the best player on his team as the hard carry for people to really take him seriously on this chart.
(I’m just using champ winners as an example to show what people really think of and gravitate towards since those are all Finals MVPs)
it’s envy. same people who say he isn’t are also the same people trying to desperately convince you he wasn’t a demon in 2023 and an igl powerhouse in 2025. they’re the same people who glaze chronicle’s accolades while they go on to put asterisks on ethan’s first and only 2x champs wins. they’re the same people who are convinced ethan is as good as a shooter as their favorite igl boaster who goes -30 on average because the thought of ethan being a good fragger (which he is) as an igl who also outcalls boaster on the regular scares them.
deep down they know that the Two Time is obviously the GOAT but they just can’t accept it, it’s not fair to them.

truth hurts, and i get why. end of the day they just wish their player was as much as a winner as Ethan.

esp with the chronicle thing because if trophies are what matter how is ethan not better than chron? even mechanically speaking they arent that big of a diff as ethan and someone like primmie or meiy would be ykwim

Never been the best or second or third best on his winning teams, 2025 champs was a fluke, was irrelevant in 22 and 24 and half of 2025, his mechanics and impact in game is not even close to the other "goats" like chron, alfa, aspas or forsaken, he isn't the best igl, not the best aimer, not the best initiator, not the best on his team, the only thing he has is trophies
people will say chronicle is the goat but keep ethan out of the conversation when chronicle has been carried to most of his wins while the only reason NRG has a trophy is because of ethan
i mean even if he is he's barely there and could get overtaken by several others at any moment.
Are you talking about the guy who set a world record against ethan and nrg in the very tournament they won?
