I really love Gekko, he is one of my favorite agents to play. I feel like a lot of pros kinda have bad theory with him though so it can be kinda hard to watch good maps to take inspiration from. Anyway, I got two questions for yall
gekko really doesnt have much going for him utility wise given all but one of his util can be broken
fun to play with but shit in pro play imo,other inis bring more and better value
maybe 5 or 10 less seconds on CD for util tho
I feel like Gekko is kinda like Brim, he's easy to play and has a place on certain maps where bum rush is viable like Bind, Icebox, or old Sunset. I feel like the last team that utilized him well was 2024 PRX with cgrs and something, essentially just putting a cracked player on a decent agent. But I think Skye fills his niche a bit better in all regards, being a flash initiator with info, we saw 100T with Boostio and Zikz trying to force him on Bind and it feels like it just got predictable over time. He's not as flexible as Skye with how far his flash goes, and of course there's the downside of it being useless if shot out of the sky. Mosh is also less of a deterrent on site hits than most other mollies.
Right now I think double controller and double duelist are just way better, plus his good maps are all out of rotation. If he gets the 10 second cooldown with the other initiators then he could very well be meta. If he gets a shorter 5 second reduction (which makes sense proportionally) I think he'll probably stay in the same spot, niche pick but easily anti'd. If he gets no CD reduction then he's going straight to F tier.
I feel like he's just kind of underwhelming compared every other agent currently which is saying a lot because Breach and miks exists.
gekko sucks ass but he'll probably get giga buffed because riot is fucking obsessed with him and wingman
