Because you want to support teams for not discarding their rosters everytime and create some consistency
exactly, it's not a hard concept to grasp. it's invite to closed qualifiers, it's not like they're given an EMEA spot.
It potentially takes spots away from better and more deserving teams
I know why you're saying that. But it's not really true.
Open qualifiers are mostly weak teams getting 13-<5d , if they can't make it to closed qualifiers across TWO challengers events. They shouldn't even be in the discussion.
If the invited team is underserving they'll eventually lose their spot anyway as tehre are 2 rounds of open quals.

It's not a hard concept to grasp, but a direct invitation to closed quals were only 8 teams makes it... It's a bit too much. They are skipping 3 days of open qualification potentially over much better teams that deserved to be there

You know what, I'm open to being wrong. So after this stage of open quals, come back to this and lets see who from the invited teams that got knocked out of the 1st closed quals failed to make it to closed again.
BDS being the obvious exception as they're out now.
Just to clarify I'm not against BDS or any other invited team whatsoever, I'm just against the invitation system, I think it's quite unfair.
I think current G2 is probably one of the best teams remaining + Alliance is pretty strong, they are no doubt the 2 best invited teams. Other teams fighting for the spot should be Rebels, Giants, LDN, KOI, TQ, Wave, CGN, PENTA, CASE, orgless22, Awaria, Anonymo, Yonk, Finest, NOM, nmDM, OG, bref, KOVA, SOR, 19esports, EXCEL, who cars (Axibyte), Heretics (omegalul), BDS and Tenstar themselves (not in any particular order)
