Idk if they got more money or if potter started using her brain again but bao/dgzin/okeanos are great players, thats enough brawn to make playoffs, but the calls suck and the plans are bad
the plans dont suck, EG every year (even when they're 24/7 losing) is still one of the most creative teams in Americas. The players are just not good enough because the best NA talent are playing for the other NA teams that pay more

FURIA did several tryouts with basically every player available until they came with the best combination possible
FURIA is also incredibly rich, EG cant compete with them if they tried to sign players like eeiu, artzin and even koalanoob
She won Champs with C0M and was 1 game of qualifying to Masters with the "bum" yay last year. EG was not even supposed to go that far compared to the other rosters in the region
honestly if they had decent attack side calling they would be a pretty legit team but c0m is a shit IGL on top of being a bot + potter doesn't know how to make him better
yes she doesnt know how to make him better surely he won't get better gradually with more games played and not during the first event of the year with a roster formed pretty late if i remember correctly
they went from 5-0 to 5-4 but potters to made it 8-4 and they throw leads often which is due to players adapting to their strats

You all forget that EG 2023 wasn't all that great at the beginning of the year either.
guys I think there's middle ground we can have here between "Potter is the greatest coach in the world" and "Potter is the worst coach in Americas", its true that both EG doesn't give her nearly as many resources as other Americas team and she has been riding on the high of Champs 2023 for a while and hasn't performed up to that standard since
The narrative that all of EG’s accomplishments are because of potter but all of their failures are never related to her is the problem
the teams failures are related to her obviously she is on the team but every time this topic gets brought up she gets 100% of blame when EG show consistent improvement (coaching) every single year
cause every iteration of eg has always played better than expected and always showed improvement and punched up in games where they had no chance on paper if literally one single iteration didn't show improvement under her i would agree except they all did and were consistent dark horse contenders most of time
its like when a player is clearly too talented to play on roster (eg oxy) does he get blamed for the team losing and how he can't play no he is the best asset to the team or mini i doubt if zeta fail any blame will be put on him cause there is only so much you can do with zeta potter has the NA zeta (this iteration is 2 upgrades away from being a lan spot contender but still)
You know what sure agree to disagree, I just think potter is washed but it’s nice she has such a dedicated fan club that can overlook 2024 and 2025 because of 2023
no agree to disagree literally every singular eg roster showed high improvement and had good strats that made up for the clear talent diff they faced most games im not a fan but you cannot watch EG games consistently and say potter is a bad coach consistently innovates and improves the roster
that's like me saying i think oxy is washed cause he carries every game but C9 haven't done anything in vct yet so its lowk his fault instead of the other 3 bums that are dragging him down
as for 2025 eg was one throw away from eliminating Prime G2 from Toronto i mean technically she is washed since she can't take a group of 5 rejects and win champs but i wouldn't call that washed imo maybe she isn't the best talent scout (furia) that's about it
