how do you guys feel about americans joining brazilian teams?

basically every team in the league now has an american except for kru, lev, and loud

i think this opened the door for some tier 2 talents who normally wouldn’t get called up because of lack of spots (like nerve for example)

if mibr hadn’t picked up verno at the start of the year, he’d probably still be benched on nrg or stuck in tier 2 to this day

the talent left in brazil’s tier 2 right now is either super young players (15/16 years old) or ones that are still really raw, most of the older players just aren’t franchise level

if we wanna see latam/br talent, it’s only in those three teams i mentioned, and well, lev’s got the best south american talents all together on one roster, it’s a really strong lineup

yea but it is another reason to lower the age limit for vct
if spike got to play from kickoff last year who knows where 2g end up (prob still dont make an international but yk)

it's a child labor law issue more than a vct issue

unfortunately that’s gonna be impossible because of some legal issues, i’m not exactly sure which ones

but if the vct age limit dropped to 15, the whole scene would change drastically, there’s this brazilian player called “landzin,” and unironically he’s the future of brazilian valorant, i think he’s already franchise level even at 15, but we’ll have to wait another 3 years to see him in vct, that sucks

idc who goes where as long as they are skilled enough to fit inside of a team and are deserving of a spot inside of said team

these mixed rosters that prioritize talent over nationality are definitely gonna make americas way more competitive, that’s why 2026 is gonna be the most stacked year in the league by far, the big problem with 2025 was all those rosters filled with awful brazilian players, we literally had to watch furia with RAAFA on the team, that guy’s one of the worst players in history and was only there because he was brazilian

american here - i don’t care about my region or the overall success of NA valorant, i just like the teams and players i like

honestly i am more of a fan of brazilian valorant than i am of NA valorant

why? two NA teams won the last champions, the last actually great brazilian team was loud 2022, brazilian valorant basically just boils down to aspas and that’s it

only now we’re starting to see new talents pop up (sato, spike, cortezia)

i have no emotional connection to NRG because they’re a dry team + also the win was a little fluky; and i wasn’t a big enough vct fan for EG’s win

i was a massive 2G and a current MIBR fan so i have an emotional connection to the players so i support brazilian players more than na players

I think having mixed talent teams is so cool, and it’s always a W to mix cultures and spread knowledge.

For example, if u ever watch a Tarik stream, he’ll whip out insults he learned from his time on MIBR all the time. And N4rrate/Reduxx/Cortezia seem like they’re gonna be fun af to watch in VCT this year

i agree 100%

these mixed rosters were only common in europe first because they’ve always been one unified region since the start

americas only came together in 2023, and little by little teams are realizing they can take advantage of talents from different countries here, there’s no need to stick to just one nationality. the internationalization of brazilian rosters is completely normal and a natural, exciting path, we’ll see more talents together and more cultures blending

America has a lot more talent than south NA, it's good that Brazilian teams are realising it

this should've been done years ago

SA players do not belong in tier 1 except a select few, NA has already proven that they're far superior to those dogs

two of the best duelists in americas are brazilian 💔

aspas and sato are unreal talents and way above most of the remaining names in the league, what kind of take is that lol

True it’s a step forward the exodus of Brazilians from the valorant scene. Big DUB

I think it's fine as long as it's merit-based; we've seen Sen with Brazilian players in the past several years with Sacy, Pancada, and now Cortezia in reverse. As long as the players prove they belong regardless of their region of origination be it NA or SA I think it's fine. Makes the entire league more competitive as a result.

yeah, up until now it wasn’t based on merit, teams were just picking players because they were brazilian, that’s why we kept seeing such bad players in the league like urango, raafa, kon4n, and so on

brazilian teams finally moving past that nationality stigma, that idea of only having brazilians on the roster, opened the door for meritocracy and actual talent from tier 2, especially the leftovers from NA

i think its a double edged sword. on one hand it helps raise the level of brazilian teams, but on the other it just makes the gap between sa and na even bigger. in the end we keep exporting talent and importing players from abroad, basically boosting na which is already stacked.

in the long run it might turn into a cycle where br teams rely more and more on foreigners just to stay competitive.

I like it, 6 franchised teams isn't enough for all the T2 talent to get seen. It also pushes the brazilian/latam nepo players out and gives their T2 players more of an opportunity in the future
