Toxicity is creating a sick community

I know everyone is angry with everyone else, but is this really what we need?

Valorant is a new game and we have already reached this level of toxicity everywhere, it is the community, the players, even the broadcasting staff got into it.
And the worst part is a region playing the blame for another, when in fact the fault of everyone, without exception.

I can not stand this shit anymore, no one is right, yet everyone wants to think they are right and in the end the only thing that happens is that Valorant becomes a joke.
Riot can't control things and I am sure that even the players are tired of all this shit.

This whole situation brought a lot of attention and exposure for Valorant, but in the long run this kind of exposure will take its toll if nothing is done for future championships.

I would also like to make an appeal to the entire community, stop this shit, ok, the whole situation involving Furia, VK, Sentinels and Acend generated a lot of controversy, yes it did, but being an asshole to the other region will not solve the problem (and this serves as a warning to everyone, I don't care what nationality you are), it will only make people angry with each other and consequently increase the level of toxicity throughout the community.

I don't care who started this, I just wish Valorant was not such a toxic place as other games, but it seems that what is happening is completely the opposite.

But then, what do you think about this whole situation?
(sorry for my English, I'm from Brazil and I'm using a translator)

this whole zombs thing started because brazilian casters or other non-players got triggered at shaz literally saying "should've called a tech pause", when he's literally making fun of himself. im glad it happened tho because more hype for champs

Can i translate what he said? Revolta literally memed with Shaz.

The phrase "Ta querendo pica... e nao sabe como pedir" means You want some attention, but you dont know how to beg for it. But he was playing with him, its a meme phrase that people use for fun.

I think this is a big case of misunderstanding.

Melão after seeing that this could go wrong just said after it they should be mature, because they have to be the adults in this scenario. As the fans will start killing eachother with the misunderstanding.

Zombs probably saw everything going bad and made the final sentence as a reaction. After that everything went bad in NA and Brazil.

Can we stop this whole thing?

melao ACTUALLY replied " "These games should bring us together" and proceed to antagonize an entire region?", HOW is shahzam antagonizing brazil while making fun of himself???

I think he means that he is provoking the brazilians since the beginning for no reason (first banterings), and i think he understood it like he was making fun of furia for having the pause. As he says in the end that he wants those games to be something that brings people together.

In the end Shaz wanted the hatred to stop, melão wanted to stop, revolta was just playing around and they all probably wanted it to be everyone in peace watching the next BR vs NA match. I doubt that anyone in this whole mess wanted it to end in that way. Even zombs, he is probably the one friend that everyone have, that wants to protect the bros and ends up fucking everything in the end (Like jinx in arcane? haha).

Bro don't eat your own mind when you know you're wrong. If this was a joke for himself he wouldn't post It in twitter so everyone could see It. He would keep for himself.

Literally he putted that tweet there to make BRs angry, If you don't see this you are lying to yourself.

do you know how humor works? he's making fun of himself so he farms impressions. literally 99% of pros do that. maybe you don't understand american humor, or don't understand social cues in general, but if u think shahzam was making fun of brazilians then you don't know what you're talking about sadly

Man antoganize is be against a whole region, and this happened. I think you are taking this too seriously.

The actual problem of the whole situation:

People just making joking and saying salty things that other didn't understand very well.

But death threats were wrong and there are no excuses. I'm saying just about the discussion between Melao and Shazam

how am i taking it seriously when i said it was a joke? melao was the one that took it seriously because he didn't understand what shaz said

u are right, and so far so good

Shazam tweets are OK
Melao tweets are OK

but then:

Zombs tweeted

And now u dont have this point anymore, because he was not joking. Maybe he was right or wrong, that is not the point, I'm only defending Melao and saying that he didn't disrespect Shazam or someone.

i agree, obviously zombs is in the wrong. he is a pro player and is stupid as fuck for saying that in the middle of a tourney.

i think zombs is more in the wrong than melao bc zombs is an actual professional, but that doesn't mean melao is right either. melao responded while not knowing the situation and stirred the drama, which ingnited the horde to go after shahzam, which is the whole reason zombs responded.

Yeah u have a point, I was very suprised when I saw Melao's tweet because he is a Riot professional, but I don't know now what will happen

The first time that i read, i thought that they were making fun of brazilians, than i went back and read it again and he could be talking about himself. Americans have more of this roasting type of humor, we dont actually do that here. I still believe that this is a whole messed up situation of everyone not understanding each other type of humor or even language.

Basically, if you support anyone spreading hate speech and being toxic, you're an asshole.

If you support Brazilians sending death threats, you're an idiot.
If you support zombs' tweet, you're an idiot.
If you support racism, you're an idiot.

Yes, every region has stupid fans, with no exception. Stop generalizing as well, it doesn't help.

It's not that hard, just be nice, keep the banter light, and have fun.

This is the most wise comment in the whole vlr.gg

There are asswholes in every country, we shouldn't support them.

Its not because someone is bad, that their whole country is bad.

People are people, their countries shouldn't matter.

My hope in vlr.gg is restored.

the fault is of all the mad brazilians sending hate to other players or orgs bc of nothing, if they just want to express their hate or their disappointment do it to RIOT but not involve other players, and abt the jokes, anyone can do a joke of smth, idk why they are fighting between regions but in a bad way, bc i respect like figths between regions in the good way, or rivarlies like the EU vs NA that is one of the best rivarlies that give life to these events or games.

Man stop acusing someone or some community. It will be only worse with this position.

We all need to do a step back and be better.

No death threats
No racism
No shit coms

Searching and guilting will only make the situation worse.

bro in a good way i'm telling the truth there are some fans that sent hate to NA players to their DMs and that's a fact, and that's not good, i totally respect the situation of FURIA and VK really and i hope Riot can handle this situation and calm down bc i think this is crossing a line and i don't want that :C

The problem is how even the pros are so reactive on twitter. I wish these people could borrow a page from FURIA's (CS team) playbook, they took issues professionally and at the end of the day, they gained more than what was lost.

People just need to chill out. A good banter can spicy up things and make good storylines to follow. However, now i think that the situation escalated too quickly due to actions off both parties (BR community and SEN team). Some people simply take declarations or tweets too seriously.

Yeah I understand Zombs frustration though. So many people just discrediting SEN when they thought the tech pause was dumb too. I don't agree with it, but like people need to realize that a tech pause has little to do with how a player preforms. Im continually amazed by how increasingly toxic everyone is being, this thread needs a pin.
