First of all I don't have a j*b. Now on to the main topic.

I just saw some people in reddit argue about which game is harder or has higher skill ceiling in pro level. So the guy who initiated the argument commented that league has lot more outplay potential and more complex macro at pro level cause of things like wave clear and other were arguing against him saying it's false. And I don't know about dota 2 esports at all so how much truth is in what the guy is saying? Just curious.

So at pro level which really is more complex and has higher skill ceiling? Again I don't have a j*b so would love to know more about this topic.

But does dota 2 really have less outplay potential and less complex macro at pro level tho? Was confused by this statement cause I used to see people say the opposite in similar comparison. But I don't know about dota to know these stuff well.

$6,000,000 Echo Slam Dunk proves wrong the people saying Dota doesn't have outplay potential

I don't have deep knowledge of either but I see most agree on a common notion that dota 2 is a harder game at pro level. They say it has more complex macro and lot more things to care about than in league. Also champs pool is more balanced so almost every champ is viable in pro play. While in league they needed to introduce fearless mode just so more champs are used.

Nah dota 2 has higher ceiling at least in macro. Dota 2 at pro level is harder but league is hard one too tho.
Hard to compare games tbh. Like I believe fps game like Cs is mechanically harder than moba like league cause it require constant more mechanics usage while in other aspects like macro it is comparatively easier.

ive reached 4k mmr in dota back then and played quite a bit with immo and divine players, i also played league atleast masters back then. i will have to disagree with you, dota 2 has much more complicated macro than league of legend and as for the mechanics, dota 2 is harder as well.

dota 2 has a higher skill ceiling. u can do different things in pro play, while league's pro-play meta is figured out e.g.sidelanes, drafts, timings , etc. riot is always trying to make it more complex tho by adding restrictions. for example, the funnel meta was nerfed so laners gained less experience and gold from camps. more recently, riot restricted the lane swap meta and then introduced fearless.

i think fearless is their best "limitation" change yet because pros with pocket picks can finally play them depending on the draft. this gives players more creative freedom, unlike the restrictions on the funnel and lane swap metas. isntead of figuring out a way to fix those issues, what they did was just add more restriction giving less freedom to approach the game differently, its pretty dumb

pro play in league nowadays just rewards team with better coordination, while dota seems to be more strategic icl (havent played/watched dota for years now but based on what ive seen, it seems like it)

Blame the people who are brainrotted into believing it was boring before I don't get the hate with lane swaps (they were removed mostly because of viewers) though funnel should stay gone the game simply isn't balanced around it like I assume dota 2 is

Like even now people are complaining about how the pro meta is "stale" it's like they've somehow already forgotten last year there has been so much meta diversity throughout this year sometimes removing an option makes room for more options

i agree on the lane swaps. ye, it was kind of a rock paper scissors strategy with the same pattern of weak side always getting dove and bullied, maybe swap lane on reset, etc., but i still think it was more interesting to watch than the traditional way things are played now

but id have to disagree about the funnel meta. it was still a hit or miss even with yi open. if you really hated it, you could just ban yi every game, and if the other team still tried to funnel, it was way easier to punish, same in pro play as well

i've played both games and i love both of them but League has a much simpler macro than Dota. Dota has a larger map compared to League which in turn creates more creative ways to gank lanes. Also Dota has a High ground and Low ground concept adopted from the warcraft 3 engine which give terrain a much more dynamic complexity. I could go on and on about warding, using smoke of deceit, and blink dagger timings but you get the point.

The debate of "wish game is the hardest" is the most stupidest one, on a game with a low ceiling it's not "more easy", it's just the winner is made on even more small detail. The hardest game is the game where more [smart] people tried to compete for the first place
