Why is gc so behind?

We saw the best gc team Shopify rebellion play in NA t2, and the best way to put it is they got ran over by literally almost every team they played against, why is this so, there isn't any physical element that is at play here unlike the other sports like football. Now before some say flor( remember flor is one of the better pros in exception), why aren't gc teams even at pretty avg level of t2? Especially since we have seen that t1 teams do practice with gc teams in scrims?
(This is not a sarcasm or a mockery post, it's a genuine question post)

good question. idk cause yeah i agree there is no difference between a man and woman in terms of ability to point and click, so maybe they’re just behind on macro

yeah definitely but now some coaches who used be in t1 are there like g2 gozen is coached by drew spark( 2024 sen ac) so maybe we see the diff

Not a lot of t2/t1 teams might want to scrim with the seperate leauge as its beneficial(as of 2025) to scrim with t2 bums than t3(Im using this to paint a picture) champs. Plus GC pays the bag I would lowkey stay in gc.

I actually believe Srg just don't have a good coach. Individually they all look good, good enough. At least to be competitive. But if you consistently get 13-5'd there has to be something wrong. Either that or they lack Gamesense. But like, they played for so long together at this level. So im more inclined to blame it on gameplans, maybe igl'ing?

probably have something to do with time spent on valorant. Some of the GC player was already a pro in previous game like enerii was CS pro. On the other hand player like mint is talented, but she spend so much time grinding Valorant to develop to where she is today. Grinding and spending time on scrim to improve needs to increase to not be considered "behind".

less female players in valorant = lower chance of talented women appearing

it's really not that deep

valo has an entire big ass GC circuit of different regions so many of them, u call them less?

there are wayyy more men than women playing valorant, so the chance of talented men playing is way higher

I think we could say there is a decent amount female players but most of them are casual players not grinding or maybe don’t have much idea regarding GC scene

Same reason USA has 130 medals at the olympics and Kyrgystan has 6.

unironically it's coaching and igling talent and thereby macro and stratting.

T1 already can't find 48 good igls and coaches from an entire game population, so make the pool significantly shallower and it's going to be harder yeah.

Really what needs to be happening is ex-players unironically teaching players their thought process. Not just GC but T2, even players IN T1... Especially retired "goats" should be. Looking at Sacy and FNS in particular. So much more to give the scene with just a tiny bit of passion.

feel like some of the best gc players could play well in t2 individually but not as a team

there are some decent individuals but it never really feels cohesive as a team

I'd say it probably is mostly a coaching issue, not really a raw skill issue. It's akin to early VCT China, where the competition isn't very strong so they don't ever get the chance to fix mistakes, so when they go into T2 they get punished heavily.

theres so many similarities between them aswell, but it also shows how quickly teams can catch up given the time and effort put in and ifwe all stopped holding onto previous opinions of them things will get easier

100% true. GC players that aren't in the top 10~ish teams usually pug because coaching isn't there or there isn't enough time together to establish good protocol. So even if you have amazing standout prospects, it's so much more difficult to find that for one of every role, and to get that team to like each other enough to stay together for years, and then build enough team chem to beat puggy teams and smarter ones consistently. And even if those conditions are met, if there's a lack of good coaching, then there's almost no way that team will stick together. The conditions for GC team like SRB or better to arise just takes so much more out of everyone than in tier 1/2 because coaching, personality clash, team chem, etc. all have to be great, and to find 5 extremely talented tier two+ worthy players who are GC eligible is terribly difficult.

Good question, the best GC teams need legit tier 1 coaches
