There hasn't been a significant game update in forever. Every patch is just 1-2 small agent buffs/nerfs and bug fixes. They haven't added a new game mode since TDM (over TWO YEARS AGO). The state of premier and ranked have been awful for years now. The only way pros will even play the game is in scrims/officials or ProCity. But there's new bundles every 2 weeks though!!!

i mean theres been like 4 metas this year alone, (double senti neon tejo yoru/vyse) . not sure what sort of updates youre looking for? its like cs, not much to build on other than new agents for a 5v5 tac shooter
from what I know of talking to some of the devs themselves, there really isn't much that they can do as higher management decides what they do. In terms of the replay sytem there have been talks about it for ages however the devs were diverted from completing it. Just stupid mismanagement of resources within Riot. It's a shame because when a good idea does come along it looks really well thought out but rito upper management is utter dogshit
Updates are overrated to an extent and the problems with the game have nothing to do with the game itself mostly

I'm sure that one day we'll have bots in one way or another. there was those gamemodes in the range a while ago and the game does contain bots that can shoot and move so surely we'll have something like that atp

I'm fine with the agent balance changes (as of recent at least). The game is in a pretty balanced state right now. As for updates I am looking for: literally ANY new gamemode (could be anything from something casual like snipers only to something more competitive like a 2v2 retake gamemode), refreshing existing gamemodes (making deathmatch spawns better and changing it so there is no score limit, make it more like CS deathmatch), at least ADRESSING the state of ranked right now, giving us new ranked rewards, maybe a agent/map ban system, some sort of CS Overwatch system to assist with cheater/distruptive behavior, an 'avoid as teammate' button (those who are avoided more should be investigated), etc etc. There is so much potential but they choose to sit around and let their game rot.

duelist and sentinel are balanced
smoke and initiator are not
and even then, in ranked, like 30% of the population brainlessly instalocks something bad every game anyway

I think many peoples qualms with the game is that there are not enough modes for the average player. Swiftplays are the only "enjoyable" game mode and other then that there's nothing

It's literally the same game on an upgraded version of the engine 😭 If they didn't tell anyone that they were upgrading, I don't think anyone would notice. Sure it's "significant" but nothing about the everyday experience of the game has changed or improved.

i hard agree on the new game modes sentiment but they DID address ranked problems in the dev update from 2 months ago as well as a lot of soft statements about ranked rewards and game modes when tarik interviewed both leo and anna at the toronto grand finals
I really like riot's balance changes, very few of them have been misses, and for the most part, the meta is in the best state that it has been (viper, sova, and omen are far nerfed from their best states and are still seeing high pickrates, and each comp archetype is meta on most maps rn), plus the replay system is almost here. They could be doing a lot more on the casual side, bc rn their main consistent content form is just skin releases, but if they add a workshop/creative mode more intensive than OW but maybe less intensive than CS (maybe in the vein of fortnite's) then they could really kick back on new content and people really wouldn't complain on the lack of content in val
