Koi is a very big org, they do not have financial problems. Not anymore at least xD
I don't think many players want to play for KOI. This was said by one of their streamers once, i think his name is SergioFerro, used to be a caster before.
It's not a money problem but more like due to the consistent streak of bad results the offer is just seen as a career ending move for some players. I don't think it's that dramatic though lol.
It's a little more complex than that. Couple things to explain
- KOI has an average budget for VCT, they make market value offers or slightly above but don't wanna compete with orgs with insane budgets like NAVI or KC (they lost the bidding war for hiro for example)
- KOI does currently have a problem in convincing players, competitiveness wise, some players have doubts and choose other projects (That's how they lost Minny to M8)
- In the past KOI had many internal issues, merging and separating from Rogue not allowing them to properly build rosters. But those problems are over now
- Now that the org is clean and stabilized KOI is a winning team, it won't take long until they figure Valorant out too. They're really good in LOL, COD and most of their games
I knew about the Rogue situation (and that was really fucked up, even the thing with some of the managers using homeopathy to treat real psychological issues with the players, which is not good) and i know they've didn't sign some of the big names because players prefer more attractive projects, i think it happened with Minny, Derke and westside (this one i think was just smoke).
I've been a KOI hater because i know they having someone as big as Ibai as owner these kind of issues shouldn't be happening, Ibai said once that he wanted to sign keznit and even had the chance but someone "suggested" him not to, that shit did really pmo, but now that things have cleared i think Spain might finally have a great representative along GX which also looks climbling up this stage.
Well if Ibai starts taking sport decisions then they're really fucked. He's the owner not the sporting director, he doesn't know anything about Valorant, he knows he shouldn't be making decisions and so he doesn't

I think they should promote the core of the academy and build from there honestly. Choose the right pieces to complement them
It’s not an artist. It’s an event by a Streamer, Ibai (koi owner). Rn that’s just someone performing at the event, but that’s not the reason for the viewers, the event is. It’s a boxing event between streamers, but they invite singers, they had will smith perform last year for example
i cant comprehend the fact that theres real people sending emojis at that chat right now and subbing to a guy thats already rich asf instead of using their money on themselves or some charity
It's a 5 hour boxing event, they just have random artists perform in between. It's like in between fights rn that's why
