less than masters equal to lock in is where i think it sits seriously
for my bait take EWC > Champs because all of the finals TH have been in have been more important than the last((kick off to regional to masters to champs to ewc)

any1 saying no is coping hard. the best teams in the world were competing for what was literally a bigger prize pool than that of toronto. not sure what more you'd want lol?

It's easy to write it off as a highly legit tourney if you use that logic but being before Champs and having essentially no prestige to back itself, only the teams that care more about money are going to seriously compete for the title.

Richer teams that have deep pockets and are focusing on champs/regionals?

Esports is a losing business so every organization cares about any money they can get, it doesnt matter how rich they are.

I hope they do great for the rest of the season but I really hope BBL can make a run because they have Jamppi and he's the reason why I sport this flair in the first place

To the org its worth way more.

1st place - $7,000,000
2nd place - $4,000,000
3rd place - $3,000,000
4th place - $2,500,000
5th place - $2,000,000

inconsistent qualifiers, qualifiers before toronto so it isnt even the best teams from the previous event or of the current meta, bo1s, single elim, schedule conflicts, no hype (toronto average viewership is higher than this tournys peak), auraless trophy (gold coin?), no champs points, no icon on the bundle next year, no bundle in the riot shop, i dont even think the valorant account tweeted about it

but to heretics its worth more than champs

Idk, kinda sits around the 2022 Reykjavík level in my head. Yes, it is a big lan event. But there's also all the asterisk on it. In this case it's right between a masters event and international play starting again. A couple subs and roster changes.

At the end of the day the grand finals was a 3-2 reverse comeback holding on for dear live. Enjoy it for what it is, a good game. In an overall decent event with pretty interesting results heading into stage 2 and champs.
