All the americas teams get insta eliminated like the dogs they are, suddenly the tourney is a mickey 😂😂😂 Only difference between EWC and a masters is that its not a double elim, which is for sure worse but still arguably only makes it harder LOL. Americas copers are on a different level

VCT Stage 1 qualified teams to this and Toronto. Tihs has a bigger prize pool though so teams care more about this -> less mickey mouse than Toronto

its officially an off season tournament. But the prize pool is FAT like you said, so some teams do care about it. That being said, champs is the end goal for most teams, so many teams don't want to leak their prep ahead of stage 2, but i guess some don't care/proivde fake prep.

It’s an off season event mid season forced into an awful scheduling slot cause Saudi threw money at riot. People think it’s legit cause the prize pool but the qualification process was awful ( multiple subs and teams didn’t event try to compete and the qualification differed across regions ) the format is awful ( bo1’s in groups and single slim ) plus it’s on the old patch when teams will be prepping the new map and bind straight after a masters. It’s just red bull homeground with money tldr

Single-Elim is valid in EWC cuz no teams have momentum advantage.

if there is a group stage, there exists momentum. That’s like, kinda the whole point of them. Wolves did so well because they had momentum from their swiss stage, seed #1s lost in toronto because they didn’t. Same thing existed here for the most part.

And i’m not saying EMEA didn’t have unfortunate circumstances but that doesn’t mean they were the best region in Toronto that’s literally just revisionary. They are the best team at EWC, yes. And people can say this isn’t a mickey mouse, I can’t stop someone from that belief. but pretending like this year isn’t dominated by APAC is genuinely just wrong
