Alfa has been underrated for years now, but now that's he's had another performance as the best player in his team I can now say without getting attacked that he's the closest thing to the GOAT rn.
The fact people didn't have him on the top 10 list before this is absolutely crazy cough cough FNS cough cough

Tenz was a top 3 player in 2021 and maybe a top 10 player in 2024. That’s it, and 2021 performances are less and less valuable. Sacy was a top 10 if not top 5 player in 2022. And that’s it, he’s never been top 10 other than that. Not even close to being a goat individually.

greatest of ALL time should have insane longevity combined with strong individual performances, which is a very high bar, but that's the point of a goat, it's not supposed to be met in 5 years

i mean personally i think he's the closest right now, but i feel like you also have to take into account that there's never been a point where he's been the undisputed best, which is a quintessential characteristic of a goat imo

I’d argue nats was slightly better over the course of the whole tournament. Chron was the finals mvp but if I had to give a most impactful player across the tourney award I’d give it to nats

But individually, he wasn’t a top player in 21/23/24. He was sens worst player the entire year, which isn’t his fault due to how they utilized him, but we aren’t about to revise history.
His util on sen and his clutches were great, but man he’d have so many questionable deaths on initiator

No? Alfajer has mediocre 2024 except a few dominating performances and people sang his praises. Also Kaajak was the best from EMEA coming to this tournament, i think he is slightly underrated rn but thats about it

He wasn't even close to playing a full year in 2024. It doesn't matter how great he was in that time period, he just didn't have enough time in the spotlight.

Longevity matters but Leo has the best stats of any franchised player ever individually. That has to count for something. He had one year where he was the best player, ~6 months where peeking him was like peaking an op, and was fantastic in 2022 individually too. A lot of players are inconsistent individually regardless of how many trophies they win.

It does count for something, I have him number 5 of all time, I just think the people above him having more longevity makes them above him on the all time list. I do agree that he was hella consistent though and I was there when Leo reached god status, and I wished he didn't retire at his peak. It is what it is though.
