Networking is different for everyone, I was close with a lot of people who also studied CS, and they also knew people etc, it inevitably landed me an internship at a company that one of their fathers owned.
I got my internship almost instantly after finishing Uni, and it lasted exactly a year, it was also paid.
My advice would be to get an internship as soon as you can, even better if it's before you graduate, get some experience, after you graduate and your internship ends, try to find an entry level job in the field you want, whether it be some mediocre one just to get a foot in the door, and you'll inherently network from that alone.
Intern & Networking is almost required in this line of field nowadays given how competitive it continues to get, though it also depends on what you specifically want to do in this field of course.
