i dont get why japan get 2 spots in masters berlin. they were the worst in iceland as well as berlin. yet they have 2 while there are other regions which gets 1 or no spots at all. SEA are way better than japan and they also have way more teams yet they get only 2 spots as well. you may call me biased as i am from india but i think south asia deserves a spot. i havent seen much of south asia but i have seen the playoffs of VCC, and i can tell you one thing for sure, they are better that fking crazy racoons. i think they should merge japan and korea and give them 3 spots in total so there is one spot left and give it to south asia next time.(also rip gaming in china)

There are 16 teams and i see a big difference between regions. I dont like to see stomps like Gambit vs CR because it is one sided. If you wanna see 24 teams, we will see more boring matches.
Matches like yesterday (EU vs NA matches) make a good show and create a big fan base of this game. I hope to see more of this games.
Rare PrTsty W. I get that it's pretty hard for people to understand how the VCT is supposed to work. But this one is pretty bad. I mean like how would they qualify the other regions that don't get into Masters then. Would they just have Challengers only. I guess they could do EMEA style shit in APAC. But still not a good idea.
1) Zeta actually gave a fucking fight to KRU.
2) Crazy racoons was against Gambit who manhandled 100T on ascent and pretty much the first half of Icebox.
CR doesn't have a Hiko with them to consistently clutch 1v3s nor are they experienced enough to stay calm and think of comebacks after an 11-1 half. Your mental is just gonna disappear into thin air.
Yes, Japan is weak but not as weak as the Gambit vs CR match made it out to be. That being said tbh yes other regions do deserve that extra slot imo but that should be Riot increasing total slots and not taking away from Japan.
Here is my point -
Japan and SEA are both unlucky and get extremely bad seeds.
Because of this, they cannot perform to the level they can.
Paper Rex was placed into the death group.
Bren was placed with SEN.
CR was placed with Gambit.
If you put such teams against each other, obviously they will underperform.
ZETA division's group was much more evenly matched and hence you saw them actually give a fight.
Even in Iceland, X10 was placed with Vikings and later SEN. In the lower bracket, they went against FNATIC.
Crazy Racoons went against V1 who literally upset Liquid.
You cannot judge a team's capacity by placing them in such disproportionate groups.
On the other, a Brazillian team lost even to Japan.
They fail to win matches be it against NA or Japan.
The only victory they got was against a Japanese team.
Ah yes, back to this shit again. JP may potentially be the weakest region, but god damn do they rack in the viewership. Val is a new game, around a year and a half old so their esports scene is still growing. Since it's growing, viewership is growing too, and JP brings in insane numbers. Why take out the region that brings in the most viewers, just because GMB rolled CR? GMB is one of the best teams in the tournament, so them beating CR was inevitable. That badly? Maybe not, but god forbid acknowledging JP because of CR and not ZETA.
If anything to stop this shit, they should have 2 reps per region and just do RR to see who's the weakest region tbh. Then it will finally shut up every fucking person who says X deserves more slots or take away Y spots. Not every region in this tournament will play others. What works against one region might not work against another. That's balance. Like CR got manhandled against GMB but won against Havan who were decimated by 100T. By this logic we should be taking away spots from BR as even the "weakest" region in the tournament won against them. If anything if you want to be fair and take it from "weaker" regions then take away BR's 2 spots as well. The only reason people don't want to take away spots from this is their history in CS, that's it. The japanese have their problem but only because they are still growing as a FPS region. Brazil has established itself in CS so of course people here don't want to take their spot but come on, they split 1-1 on their region vs region heads up. That shows you both regions have their problems.
It's not unrealistic, it's to build it's economy gotta keep it somewhat fair in amount of teams to everyone. And from here on out they can buid further seeing which teams deserve more, and which teams maybe don't quite deserve the spots they've gotten. They couldn't just copy CS in who are the best regions, seeing as Vision Strikers are absolutely fantastic, that would've been unfair. After Challengers are over I'm certain a lot of things will change again in VCT
