I asked a question on whether it is or isn't okay in someone's personal opinion to be fat, if someone chose to answer in one way or another that is their choice, I'm not going to judge them on their answer because everyone has their circumstances and even I know I've been personally disgusted by other fat people due to an internal hatred of my own issue with obesity.

obviously, I do not know you, I don't know what u look like, what u are going through, but genuinely I hope your able to live your life and succeed no matter what <3.

i mean yeah sure, if youre OK with being so
The mentality, not the state of being is the bad thing
People who do not accept it and make excuses/act like theyre perfectly healthy is what is bad. And i mean also at a certain point there is an objectively TOO fat mark which i would say is bad as well (like if someone cant walk on their own or something like that, i feel like thats an objective “too fat” point)

#11

I mean, i eat yogurts/apples and a decent veggies + 1 main and a few snacks/lunch some days what part of that could possibly be considered "acting perfect) and to confirm, not saying your saying this, just checking my own perspective against "make excuses and act perfectly healthy" part

#22

Yeah thats fair ig
To clarify what i meant though, i just meant, when some people are like “umm no, im not fat, this is a normal body” (denying that being fat is even a condition), or say that just because theyre fat, doesnt mean theyre unhealthy (literally just biologically untrue), or like, excuses why they cant lose weight or diet or exercise, yaknow, stuff like that. There are SOME things that do legitimately stop people from dieting/excercising and i do recognize those but a lot of excuses are just not valid - which is what i think is the “bad” part of being fat for some people.
If someone is okay with being fat, and recognizes that its unhealthy and theyre OK with that - then its fine, really

Ok i watched first 17 seconds of the video and I have my verdict:

  • being fat is not ok
  • the guy in yellow is not ok either - how tf does he fit a door frame?

It's actually ironic, the guy in yellow was one of the chillest mfers so far

#15

was he chill about being fat or about being over trained?

idk, I just look at him and think about all the uncomfortabilities he experiences

#18
Bonkbonk201

Frags

both, he understands both sides because like fat people., people look at him and judge him, so while he's "healthy" he still gets somewhat of a similar experience of the "ew wtf ur weird" side of it and because in the past he was normally "healthy" he understands how no one judges him from it

#25
XanXanUk

Frags

im glad for him
but u see, that's the thing about judging.

There should be differentiation between judging and disrespecting others. I feel like judging others is fine, like, you know, in your head and maybe out loud in rare cases (friends, relatives). Saying "eww fat weird'" is just straight up disrespect by crossing personal boundaries, you know.

And when people say "dont judge others" i agree when they mean dont insult others, but i disagree when they say "dont have an opinion people, just accept them and move on".

Yeah, When my girlfriend notices i play valorant she judges me but that's because i've told her in the past how genuinely bad for me it has been, that isn't toxic, but judging someone for interests they like and that are good for them as a person is toxic, imo anyway.

Its not okay to be fat, if you cannot discipline yourself to eat healthy and take at least 1 hour everyday to take care of your own body what do you think you can achieve in life with that much willpower? remember your body is the only thing that you will have everyday till your last day.

"And because the body is in a bad condition, loss of memory, depression, discontent, insanity often assail the mind so violently as to drive whatever knowledge it contains clean out of it. But a sound and healthy body is a strong protection to a man, and at least there is no danger then of such a calamity happening to him through physical weakness: on the contrary, it is likely that his sound condition will serve to produce effects the opposite of those that arise from bad condition. And surely a man of sense would submit to anything to obtain the effects that are the opposite of those mentioned in my list. was also what seneca said

i also wanted to add this other part and mention, it was at a time where being fit was almost certain a guarantee for 99% of the male population as well because a lot of men became soldiers at this time

#31

Keep up in that path cultivating weakness and you shall reap what you sow.
Read "Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds" and you will understand that its not only your body that is weak by that habit.

You are terribly wrong.
I understand and somewhat agree with your "willpower thing" but it does not always comes down to it.

You can not just think that unfit people have not enough will power.
I personally knew woman that was struggling with her weight and it gave her terrible leg pain when she became older. She DID try to lose weight. She worked physically more than you I would bet. But she just couldnt. And yet her power of will was exceptional, trust me on that.

I have a personal experience of a cat i knew, i know not perfect, but every single time this cat who was a stray would get food, they would eat it as soon as possible so the person who took care of her had to make sure not to overfeed her, but this cat would purposefully try to get into dry aand wet food pouches/boxes etc, it got to the point where the cat got diabetic due to this, sometimes it truly is ruled by your past experiences is what i've learned, my girlfiends dad is a good example of this, he was in the military as a bomb diffusion expert, he lived without the food/water for long periods of time, so now he appreciates these things a lot more than most people, it's something with the psyche being recoded essentially is what i believe but i truthfully don't know.

yes , it is ok to be fat

(though being overweight can be a sign of health problems)

I mean, I think it depends.

I'm healthy and by no means obese but my weight is on the heavier size of the healthy spectrum. Despite this, my family makes fun of me on a daily basis, and while I agree that I've reached where I am due to a lack of regular, consistent exercise, I am no where near some other people I know.

Therefore, I think it's okay to be fat as long as you are aware of its negatives and consequences. To me it's like having an addiction. If you just really love food and you can't control yourself around it, then you're probably bound to get fat. The only thing you can do to get unfat is to start exercising and doing healthy things.

tldr: Just don't be a burden on others imo and it's okay.

I missed this one before i apologise

but first things first it's never okay for them to make fun of u purely because of that fact, no matter how unfair or fair it is, I've dealt with similar circumstances with my own mother of "you look fat" or "u need to do this, wear this it's a blank occasion" I never really fit into the box of "normalcy" so those things I didn't like doing but nobody should make your decision no matter what you choose to do and nobody else should make fun of you or try to change your mind if that's what u truly choose! that is my personal opinion! but that's just because it's the mentality I personally take with my friends/family.

But i agree with your "therefore" and below comment, i think it could be put across better but i agree with the main points!

As someone who used to be 250 lbs (113 kg for my Europeans), and now weighs 175, it is okay to be fat. It is ok to be ok with being fat. Yet the quality of life changes that come with weight loss are undeniable. You feel better about yourself, you can really find a good style without being self conscious, people look at you different, you get more compliments and more attention from girls. It's less about being fat and more about being confident.

it is their fucking choice like bro put the burger down and go to therapy.

It's not that it's "okay" being fat, your value is still the same cause you're a fucking human regardless of how much you weight, so who cares about what anyone else considers "okay".

at an avg fast food restaurant you would pay around 350 liras at minimum and you're not even eating something nice and would still feel hungry for example

You shouldn’t treat anyone worse or lesser just because of their weight, but at the same time they shouldn’t be encouraged to keep living the way they currently are if they are overweight/obese for their own good

you gotta define "fat". if you mean like people who are like 600+, no, it's not okay to be like that. it's unhealthy and i bet they dont like being that fat. if you mean fat as in a person has a little bit of a belly, that should not be looked down on. coming from a swimmer, i am CONSTANTLY being told im fat cuz i dont have that swimmer body anymore and i know that i'm not ACTUALLY fat, but it still hurts. Granted i could diet and actually work to get that swimmer body which i plan on doing, but i shouldn't be called fat. idk if that makes sense
