Viewership is bad.... AGAIN.....

TL vs ForZe, a game which the team lost will not get to participate in Berlin (high stake game): 25k viewers

ENCE vs Team Spirit: low stake Group stage game: 55k viewers

once again, without SEN (and big NA brand team to some extent like 100T), Valorant competitive viewership is bad.
It is a 'casual' game, you get plenty of streamers playing casually with good views, but for competitive scene, there is just so little interest in team that is not SEN and 100T

this is not a qualifier, this is Challengers3. Are we really saying everything is qualifier nowadays? Like this 'qualifier' excuse is getting old, there is only 3 real tournament the whole year by your logic, and teams can't expect to sustain if they are getting these 'qualifier' viewership.

That's like saying the whole of premier league is just qualifier for champions league. Absurd

#25

yes it is a qual. for masters. its not an excuse, masters and champions is the main pie, this is just a stepping stone.

You cant honestly say "this is a qualifier" and mean it. Saying that is almost the equivalent of saying a group stage is just the qualifier for the playoffs

#53

Frags

You’re technically qualifying for Masters lol. I get it’s called Challengers but it’s all regional. Now, if Masters has 25k then ok. That’s a whole different thing.

#63
hellaeleganceyeah
1
Frags
+

how is this not a qualifier. nobody gives a flying fuck about who wins the challengers playoffs if it didnt qual them for berlin. if the whole fun of watching this game is derived from who has the chance to make it to berlin or not (winner has a chance, loser is out of contention for berlin), then why isnt the identity of the game also derived from its standing as a qualifiers?

#66
ShiningTyGuy

I'm not arguing that technically speaking its a qualifier. My argument is that it being a so called qualifier isn't why the viewer count is below some people standards. Its because EU is still dominated by the csgo scene. In NA, challenger playoffs is very popular, since it determines who goes to Berlin, and for stage 3, sealed some teams fate for the rest of the year. Maybe its just that they're are so many qualifiers (open and closed) just to get to this point that I struggle really calling this a qualifier (since the stakes are so high), even tho technically speaking it is. I mean for NA challenger playoffs is the top 8 teams, EMEA its the top 12. Plus people just say "its just a qualifier" which implies, to me at least, that the games aren't as important, which I guess could be argued that they aren't. People just use qualifier to loosely. IMO there's a HUGE difference between regional qualifiers and international qualifiers. IDK I guess people just have different perceptions on the figurative meaning behind the saying "its just a qualifier"

you need to combine all of the streams since many people watch watch parties instead of main stream
This should be common sense ig

Delusional to think that valorant is going to completely kill CS:GO tbh

#64
Psion
2
Frags
+

it is but valve's recent changes only keep people playing the game in, and isn't trying to get new players to play the game. valve making it so that only prime members can play ranked and f2p accounts can't get prime anymore helps people who already have prime get less cheaters, but doesn't get more people into the game as they will instantly be put against cheaters and won't want to spend money on the game to only slighty reduce the number, especially now since they can play valorant without the cheaters

#67
Glycoroldas

You raise fair points. To elaborate my thinking further, I don't think it's valorant that is going to be the nail in CS:GO's coffin(assuming Valve continues to do nothing about emerging competition in team based FPS), instead it will be CoD4 promod clone called ProMod(that is currently being developed by devs of Batallion 1944). The combo of ProMod and Valorant will be the hammer and the nail in CS:GO's impeding death(again, assuming that Valve does not release a new version of Counter Strike or leaves it be without a major revamp).

A lot of CS:GO people find Valorant's abilities to be unfair, but ProMod is literally CS:GO with the only addition of aim down the sight mechanic and a bit different style of movement. That game if successfully developed by batallion 1944 devs will be a much more direct competitor of CS:GO than valorant currently is.

I mean, since when was viewership bad in NA if Sen wasn't in?

Any game with 100t, TSM, or other big orgs in NA would generate lots of viewership without Sen in the matchup at all.

Do you compare an international ESL tournament with 750k in prize money to a regional qualifying tournament with only 100k usd ? ...............

#36
Ms
0
Frags

in this instance this qualifier is more important, and ence and spirit have so small fan bases.

#39
TinglyPiano
-1
Frags

the fans dont care how big the prize money is. It is about who is playing

if valve majojr gives the winning team only 10k, there will still be more viewership than a 1m tourney

#54
AlekSeb
2
Frags
+

It is important ?? Yes
People don't care about the prize pool? Yes
But you can't compare an international tournament with the best teams in the world, with a regional qualifier, compare it with the CS_summit 6 that had 155k viewers or the Flashpoint 3 that had 150k in the final

Compare the ESL Pro League playoffs to the Berlin Master to be fair....

Well if its only include the West then yes NA with Sentinels and 100T hard carry Valorant viewership. But in Asia recently, Japanese viewership number is also on the rise where nowadays the average viewership could be around 40k to 50k+ (including official watch parties) live viewers during the JP stage 3 playoff which is huge compare to the viewerships during stage 1 & 2.

All his posts are 75% about viewership and the rest of 25% looking down on others. Who does he think he is?

Someone help him to move out from his momma basement and tell him there's a world outside.

forZe isn't a big team and everyone probably had a feeling that TL is winning anyways
NA has caught onto Valorant since its the FPS game where we have a chance to win, where other regions have a chance to win, and its not just an EU only show
EU still has CSGO, and I doubt that Valorant will grow as easily in EU as it has in NA
