Russians are the Koreans of FPS games

Comments:

Literally every nation gets mogged by them im FPS games. The amount of top tier russian players is incredible. Literally every region in the VCT has russian players in them. Some of the best players in the world are russian, and even players like Derke and Demon1 have their roots there. In CS literally half of the upcomming players are russian, and R6 had team empire as their dominant team (back when I watched).

In my opinion, it's an amazing phenomena and it's very cool to see Russian players pop off all the time (ex. vo0kashu, Chronicle, nAts, b1sk, trexx, etc)

Demon1 has never touched an FPS in Russia, his first FPS was Unreal Tournament when he was in the states, so unless you think that this shit is literally genetic then no it’s just a culture thing

But he wasn’t immersed in gaming during his time in Russia at all, we’re basing this purely off blood when his culture within gaming is entirely American

Na1my never said anything about Demon1 getting good by playing in Russia though... As far as my interpretation goes (it might be wrong), it seems to me that they are just pointing out the fact that there are a lot of great players with Russian heritage.

That's a common sentiment in FREEMEA

Demon1 has literally no roots of playing FPS’ in Russia though from what he’s told us. We’re implementing his Russian heritage in a completely unrelated topic which makes no sense here.

Great observation but.
Last year in VCT EMEA there were 4 Lithuanian players and 6 (count more if u want) Russian players.
Russia had 1.5 times more players in VCT.
Russia's population is 50 times larger than Lithuania's.

(if i remember correctly Russia was 8th or 9th in League by this )

And I agree! The Russian heritage has no connection to being good at video games. It makes zero sense.

My word is that a strange thing to believe in. Scientifically speaking, there shouldn't be any genes in Europeans that allow them to be better at video games than say, people from the United States of America or Fiji. If you believe in this stuff then you may or may not be seriously undereducated on certain topics that you might want to understand fully if you want to be a well-functioning member of humanity.
Racism and stereotypes should never be encouraged in any situation (aside from making assumptions when reasonable).

Population is the number of people
Original post talks about number of people
why it matters - idk, ask author of this thread

(doesnt matter if you count flags or ethnicity, Lithuanians are still 1 first place by players per ppopulation and Russia is not even top 5)

ye but u r counting vct emea when there are a lot of good Russian players in other leagues and tier 2
and population doesnt fucking matter because in some countries there are more people that play valorant
in Russia most of people still play cs go and not valorant so they will have way less valorant players even with big population
also I just checked your account and it seems as if you created it only to hate on Russia so idk if theres even a point to argue with you

Lithuanian players have no problems to play in EMEA and play on bootcamps unlike Russian players. Don't tell me that it's not a big problems for tier-1 teams.
As well right now there are 0 orgs from CIS region in EMEA, but East Europe (what Lithuania is par of) has 1 team. It's a good improvement for the whole region.
In such situation it's even bigger surprise that we have more than 0 or 1 players from CIS region in VCT EMEA

Besides Russian players, only 1 player has no organisations from his home Sub-region in VCT EMEA. It's tomaszy from Portugal.

Yeah it's pretty incredible how many top level fps players hail from Russia.
Especially in cs, there is a very good support system in place.
A lot of orgs investing and many orgs have academies.
The likes of new talents like donk + shiro + monesy all emerging from that system.

In valorant with the CIS league being removed it has sorta stumped the growth of new talent in the region.
Although this year we have seen so "newer" faces like vo0kashu, jemkin and something shine in their new opportunities in asia.

1) Even if count all the Russians in every single VCT league Lithuania still has TIMES more players per 1 mil of population of their country
2) population does fucking matter - it is much more impressive for a country to have a lot of people succeeding if its population is small
3) topic "what video game is more popular in which country and what people prefer valorant or cs" is interesting, let's discuss if you want. What do you know about preferences cs\val of in Baltic countries? You gave your overview on Russia, what about Lithuania?
4) no you didnt check shit, you looked at the last topic i was in and made a terrible conclusion, look past last topic i wrote in
5) Don't call people pu**y, not a good representation.
6) again, i did not try to disagree with the original post - just if you want express your adoration by some country's achievements in Competitive Valorant - let's give respect to others too.
Finland is a beast. Sweden is a beast too especially if you count coaches.

ok ill make it clear for u
POPULATION DOESNT MATTER CAUSE THE GAME IS BARELY POPULAR IN RUSSIA BRO
WHATS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND
Pussying out means dipping. I didn't call you a pussy. But yeah it was kinda too far ngl so im sorry
Also even that Russian players are just better than the lithuanian ones so it doesnt matter either way

your stat will be purer if you count:
quantity of players from the country in VCT EMEA
divided by
quantity of players from the country in Valorant on EU servers

Still your figure of Lithuania will be higher than Russia has, but at least it will be more fair index

P.S. in your calculations it should be 39 Russian players for 1 Lithuanian player to be at the same level. Right?

Being Russian doesn’t really make you good at FPS, it’s the player’s innate talent and hard-work. All I’m saying is, if I was born a Russian and I played Valorant, I would obviously do bad, but if I actually gave effort (e.g. putting on aim routines, aim training, hiring coaches, and partake in small tournaments) until I climb at the top; I’d be considered as a great player.
