BBL Esports BBL Esports Europe Rank #41 have bid farewell to Ali "AsLanM4shadoW" Osman Balta, one of the team's founding members, having joined in the summer of 2020. AsLanM4shadoW leaves BBL after 1268 days together.
When AsLanM4shadoW joined BBL, the budding Turkish roster was still fighting for their presence in Europe, while simultaneously dominating regional competition. That became the standard for BBL, who only solidified their spot in EMEA in 2022, with that year's format changes and with 2023's kickoff of the partnered era.
During the time leading up to the partnered era, AsLanM4shadoW survived numerous rebuilds. He was the only player from BBL's founding roster to reach the partnered VCT EMEA, and the most tenured member in the squad by over a year at that time; QutionerX was the second-most tenured member, having joined in December 2021.
In AsLanM4shadoW's final year under BBL, the roster entered VCT EMEA as one of two Turkish representatives (alongside FUT Esports FUT Esports Europe Rank #5 ). The team struggled to make a mark in 2023, bowing out of LOCK//IN in the first round to DRX DRX Korea Rank #1 and, some months later, finishing the EMEA regular season one victory shy of playoffs contention. In the LCQ, AsLanM4shadoW & co. were eliminated early in their opening match by Karmine Corp Karmine Corp Europe Rank #22 .
AsLanM4shadoW is the first player BBL let go since September, when the team dropped three of its players. In the final months of 2023, BBL picked up Efe "Elite" Teber, of Papara SuperMassive Papara SuperMassive Europe Rank #21 , and S2G Esports S2G Esports Europe Rank #170 duo Melih "pAura" Karaduran and Kaan "reazy" Ürpek. With AsLanM4shadoW's departure, the team has returned to a standard quintet ahead of the 2024 season, which kicks off next month.
