What caused the steep decline of EMEA?

Looks like every EMEA team has fallen off a cliff in terms of strats and mechanics. They used to be a powerhouse region, respected and feared. Now they just look like clowns.... EMEA bros, what went wrong?

Lockin was pretty much all fnatic and a bit of Navi
But TL is looking good too now so there is that to look forward to this time since navi is already out of tokyo

I've just seen two play in this masters?
Fnatic still has to show some stuff and Liquid is still waited to finally wake up

It's just Navi that went downhill like that

It's just the region itself 🤭

Nothing went wrong. North Americas was merged with Brazil and LATAM. Korea with Japan, SEA etc. EMEA is still same as last year Europe merged with Africa and Middle East(lol). NaVi is 4th in EMEA like 100T/SEN is 4th NA team in Americas. If you look it like if it was last year.

What went wrong with NaVi is different topic tho

this is absolutely the worst take i've seen

if there were more slots for NA teams, then orgs like M80, Guard (before their decline), Shopify Rebellion, and maybe Faze, Oxygen, and G2 would have been a part of franchising. M80, Guard, and MXM created teams that could easily compete for Tokyo spots. EMEA with 10 spots is NOT the same as NA with 10 spots and you know that.

what does T2 EMEA have? Apeks? Acend? these teams would somehow find a way to lose to KC with ScreaM IGLing.

i agree with Pacific though, a lot of countries in separate regions only had 1-2 good teams out of 8

??????
no he meant that the talent in EMEA is more spread out (more teams, but not all good)

while NA talent is condensed (less spread out (less teams, more good in each team)

Not even 2-3 the emea teams in playoffs are 3-4 fnatic are the best team of the emea region wile its widely acknowledged that liquid are the 2bd beta team as well and at the moment until navi switch back their roles and stop trolling I would even say fut is the 3rd best team of the emea region

NAVi has been on the decline since after Lock/In
Their performance was abysmal in the league
What's the issue with Fut tho?
They went against EG...who rn might just win the whole thing
Need to watch them against DRX to come to a conclusion but yeah EMEA performance has been disappointing till now

EMEA:
Farming noob tier 2 scrim
Farmers league noob region in matches
Carried by Russians

Americas
Best tier 2 scene itw to scrim
Best regional competition
Only 1 Russian

Need I say more

TL and FNC look very good, Fut is on the come up and Navi was a fraud team anyway

FUT a bit too inconsistent imo. They are no where good enough to make a run yet. However I think they show a lot of promise, and could be a true force given a little more time.

In terms of technical skill, I'd say they're able to hang with the big boys like FNC

Yes, but can they do that for 5-7 games in a row

it's because qw1 is inconsistent, whenever he plays well fut dominate

Franchising buffed Americas and Pacific, while it didn't for EMEA. Emea has always been its own region, they didn't get combined like Americas and Pacific where the top teams all got stuffed into much more stacked leagues.

Edit: Also Americas and Pacific have a lot of old cores retained, while emea has only a few.

NA only 5 spots to franchise. So the teams are way more stacked than last year (only 5 teams).
LOUD/FUR/LEV/KRU great teams with a lot of international experience in the pool to make great scrims.

EMEA is the same region as usual.

EMEA is in the same level, and made a poorly 2022.
Americas make 2 of 3 international finals in the last year (2022) and is a region way more stacked this year.

That's the difference.

FNC winning don't change the fact that Americas in general is a better region and way more competitive.

franchising, the level of competition was so low,its hard to prepare for international competition when half of the competition you face regionally is complete dogshit, you don't need to innovate or tryhard and the few solid teams just ran over everyone the league, Americas got way more competitive because NA only has 5 teams so of course the teams will be more stacked if you can only have 5 teams from a huge region like NA and SA combined, and so many of the previous Americas lineup cores stayed the same unlike EMEA where basically every team was started from the dirt
