Wow the 50 millionth thread about gambit era and just interested, if let's say that we didn't have the unfortunate situation earlier last year, so you guys truly think gambit would have had kept the same form all throughout 2022?. or have gone down the sen route and start falling later as they start getting counter stratted even more?

yes, they're kinda in the same situation as sentinels in 2022, the org can't give the team any support, (instead of sentinels where the org didn't want to give them support kkkk)

fall off from top1 itw to around top6/contender like LEV in 2022 and then sign something to replace d3ffo ahead of 2023 and dominate the world again

Ngl they woulda fallen off. I kean they were already going down that route since they lost to Fnatic

If they replaced d3ffo with an elite duelist, they would of been the best team itw even to this day

tbf they were m3c at the time and iirc they didn't have support such as performance managers and analysts

“Gambit era” won 1 international and went to grand finals in the next

yes and still were considered the best team even while losing

metas change so honestly they would've just fallen off on their own. yeah they won a Masters and came runner up in the first Champs, but that was in 2021. idk how they would've fared in the chamber meta (though the current double controller meta would've been awesome for nats viper)

With good (something? or idk) player instead of d3ffo, they could be the best team even now

nAts defined lurking for his era. At Gambit's prime, counter-stratting and heavy prep wasn't as common or meticulous as it is now. It took a bit, but slowly it became clear that all the other EMEA teams were counterstratting them.

What worked back at Berlin isn't gonna work again, and I think that's that's the most important point in this discussion.

M3C didn't have an org behind them, a well-funded, proper coaching staff. If they did, they would've been able to adapt their playstyle, change up their strategies, and be able to make a lot deeper prep against their opponents.

imo, being in an org would've at the very least qualified M3C to champions through LCQ and at most got them another grand finals appearance.

I think that if the war never happened, gambit would’ve made one or more lans in 2022. Despite being completely orgless they had four matches that if they won would’ve qualified them to a lan
They came very close to beating FPX in the qualifier before Copenhagen

It’s very doubtable to say they would’ve won anything
But they would’ve top 8 intw I think

Gambit 4+derke would unironically be top 1 even in 2023, chronicle is in the same form as in 2021, nats fell off a bit(but it's hard to consistently drop 260+ acs and 1.4 kd on viper and cypher, he's still elite in his role just not at absolute peak uncontested best player itw level), sheydos is kinda farming emea even in his dysfunctional team playing off-role.

Ok no meme the issue with the team was

  1. Deffo not good in online tourneys which is chill bc he did well on lan.
  2. Redgar was too rigid as an igl and as the maps become more attack sided like they are now he wouldve become a worse igl over time. Currently he has 2 good midrounders so hes doing better.
  3. Nats is too rigid to play agents like kj that kill his lurk potential. (Which means he becomes 1 dimensional over time)
  4. Role swaps were a lil too crazy and killed the team synergy for some matches.

had Gambit not collapsed as an org they 100% would've made every LAN in 2022 and probably place high in all of them

Yup, basically like Sen

Sen players except tenz now are stuck in tier 2 and look average there, tenz also looks kinda average atm, it's not the same with gambit players.

Well I’m talking about as a team not them separately. If Gambit were still together right now they’d be in the same situation as Sen last year
