Dresscode on broadcast

Do you also feel like the broadcast talent dresses way to casually? This really bothers me at the top tier events. Like we have the world championship (the most prestiegous event in all of Valorant) going on, and the analysts wear jeans and a shirt, like what is this? Personally I have a hard time taking the event seriously when the presentation is so casual. I think for major events a suit or a dress has to be mandatory.

The host should be dressed formally, but the analysts should be free to wear what they want ngl.

Can you explain why?

they are talent and personalities in their own aspect, personally, it would take away from the individuality of the analysts if they were all dressed up and would feel even more forced than it already is. The closer they get to feeling professional the less interested I am in it. Things like match of the day or the prematch shows before football games would feel wrong if all these personalities were in suit instead of casually dressed.

Sure you expect them to wear tuxedo in a non-AC facility in Brazil Sao Paulo 40° C ? Lol major event with no AC. Riot cost cutting is unreal

fair enough, you should look around. Especially if you like valo there literally is a game that is pretty much the same thing.

blud we watch grown ass men getting paid by kicking one ball around a field chill.

Why is one thing worthy of a dresscode and the other one isnt?

You just argued against dresscodes in footy lol. Having said that, humans have been known to draw arbitrary lines of social behavior. There's no logic or reason behind it. It is this way, because it is "supposed" to be this way.

Agreed. CS GO scene feels much more professional. Then again this game is aimed towards zoomers so

it depends. formal suits fit pretty well for Japanese broadcast cuz their broadcasting set looks like a TV studio. A big factor to me is the theme of the stage where they cast, casual outfits don't fit in dark themed/ceremonial stages, but look pretty good on flashy and energitic stages like Sao Paulo one

Imo, wouldn't fit Valorant (or VCT's rather) overall aesthetic. Compare it to League of Legends, where even with the MSI and Worlds branding either leaning towards the grunge or regal, League has always been more of a "gentleman's affair" presentation, but that doesn't mean they shy away from a more casual look either; just look at their Tier 2/Academy League/Regional Leagues broadcast.

However, the VCT has always been more of a tech, grounded, and even more grunge aesthetic than what we've normally seen out of other esports. It's gritty, it's rough, and it wasn't meant to be a "high affair/class" style of presentation. Look at their broadcast assets, stage design, soundtrack choices; the VCT has a different feel and I'm glad Riot isn't forcing every one of their esports broadcasts to be completely uniform. It gives a level of freedom for each broadcast members.

Of course, this does differ from region to region (I think East Asian broadcasts still prefer the more formal look than others.)

Agreed just like any other eSports they wear suits and formal dresses for their world championships, you can really feel the vibe and y'know it's the big dogs competing and it feels more prestigious but Valorant is the only outlier you can just wear pajamas and it'd be alright

The professional vibe adds nothing to the product and doesn't bring more viewership.
