DRX: plat analysis

map 1: I think the skye pick really hurt them. Even tho it's a comfort pick and they were able to combo it well on attack, the fact that LOUD could stack up close to a site and wall and drone without fear of getting supressed made things easy for them

map 2: I didn't watch as much of this map but it seemed like especially with ult usage Loud was winning space in most back and forth util dumps, denying info from DRX. It also seemed like they weren't able to activate impactful lurks too often, and Loud were quickly collapsing back onto the site as soon as the util for the initial hit was sent out.

Overall: DRX didn't seem to be awping very often. Mostly only when they had chamber ult online. I think they have to be more willing to pull it out just to keep enemies on their toes and not allowing them to get too comfortable.

Agreed, they haven’t used the Op much since the loss first loss to Optic, Rb looks afraid to use it and it’s costing them games

Also they need a raze player like come on

yes, seize nade combo is a super easy way to gain space in A lobby right off the bat for example, that might be a way that they can win the space in util exchanges

for what its worth, Rb was popping off with the op on breeze

Yeah that was good to see, but it wasn’t enough or frequent enough throughout the series, no Op in haven makes me sad

true. Rb was surprisingly the only player on DRX this tourney that didn't have a sleeper game. Perhaps they should have played Fracture instead of Haven - but we all know LOUD's Fracture is quite good.

Yeah but so was Optic’s, and DRX smashed them on it. Loud’s haven was pretty good beforehand too, DRX tried to switch things up and paid for it. And as a side note, I’m glad that the 1 year+ that I spent backing Rb is finally being repaid, he’s had a phenomenal tournament so far

map 1 : fell off from LOUD comeback attack side, same like vs OPTIC
map 2 : mentally boomed from big comeback, end with 13 - 6, not even close

LOUD stat : all player went +
DRX stat : only RB went +

Also the Breach presence almost made RB ult useless, he was afraid to ult and lose it to a 200$ skill lmao

yes the killjoy pick is also worth mentioning not finding much impact, with ult or lurk

they were 11-7 up on breeze. you can't criticize the skye pick when it was so crucial for them to get the lead on the first place. they won a game from 12-4 down. it's the mental barrier they can't get over. i swear, if they had won breeze even in a 60 round OT, they would've washed LOUD on haven. but instead, they lost 13-6.

I can and will criticize skye pick, mental excuse is bullshit. DRX did not let up the gas even in the haven game when they were down. Loud played well, countered DRX's weaknesses

Skye is viable and for certain teams it's better , but the way drx used skye on defense was absolutely bonkers

ok, then they play skye in stead of kay/o? stax's kay/o stats is horrible. so, rb has to pick up kay/o and give up chamber. so does stax play fade on breeze?

stax's stats might be bad because they didn't have good gameplans with kayo, probably the reason why they've been on skye. It's not like stax suddenly can't shoot back on that agent. There are also other options that they could've taken, possibly the triple initiator comp used by sentinels or a neon comp like fnatic. Loud already had footage of how they were using skye on breeze so I think they needed to switch comps.

They don't have much time especially with a new map out, hopefully in the future they will come out with several different agent comps that they can keep in their back pocket for multiple maps, you see all of the top teams starting to do this now.

they lost breeze because they cant defend a site to save their lives, not bc of their mental...
LOUD literally doing the same A-split push from A main and halls and DRX didnt adapt at all

They need mentality shift , not just when it comes to mental resilience but also their approach to the game has not worked for 2 years now , like benkai said they're playing this game like its 1.6 , termi this in not 1.6!!!!!

I dont think Skye is that bad. In fact it's really good against teams that play Cypher (breaking trips really easy with Skye). They just didn't have any good reads.

I think Loud was aware of that though how many times do you see the dog breaking trips in that game? I just think with kayo's util you can make more adaptations on the fly, + suppressing cypher and viper is still a great way to gain space and expose gaps

with kayo they wouldn't have done well on attack probably, cypher and viper would just swap sites and since there is no chamber you arent achieveing that much with the knife, I think there are good ways to counter sova drones without a kayo, at least good enough to not lose the half 10-2

Not having anyone that they trust to play Raze is a huge detriment, and though Stax is insane Kay/O being his worst of his comfort agents is really bad for maps like Breeze Ascent and IB
