DRX beat PRX and went 1-1 with ZETA, who also beat PRX, so it seems more like JP=KR>SEA?

But they are better than DRX

#9

Well the first time Zeta met DRX they got 5 rounds and 2-0'ed, the second time it was a close win with an 11-13 first map. So I don't think it's fair to say they are better because in the end they are 1-1 against each other.

Unless you're saying Liquid is better than DRX, which is completely unproven because the two have never played each other, and it doesn't even make sense because it's a regional debate..

its sad to see an entire region being looked down upon due to one idiot, people speak as if only forsaken cheated, forsaken was just a bigger idiot than the other cheaters thats all, even some 'pro' players now have cheated in the past when they were in lower ranks/were no namers

ayo gotta give forsaken credit for having huge balls to do it on LAN.

But yeah, one region being mocked for a single cheater, despite other regions have pros being banned. Hell, atleast Forsaken lost his career. In NA you just swap games and you're all good to go.

RNG has no korean players and has won 2 of l;ast MSI tho?
And when in finals its the Chinese junglers that carry. (Tian in FPX, JieJie in EDG) Only exception is The Shy in 2018.

no ur flat our wrong lol. jiejie was only impactful in the games they won not the series throughout and fpx literally had doinb. the fact remains that every chinese worlds winner had their carry players which were korean; theshy rookie doinb viper scout

Scout was korean but his career was made in the LPL. IN THE CHINA REGION. LPL >>>>>>>>
HE has the LPL style, he only through acad in LCK, and his pro career was made in the LPL
LCK didn't give him the chance to prove himself, LPL did

are you slow? theres a reason they were got scouted. they were born and trained in korea, its not like they started playing LoL in china. its almost as if he had to adapt to the region and teams he was playing with and against LMAO.

Weird how Tian carried FPX in finals tho
Same with Jie Jie.
The game Jie Jie was prioritized EDG won.
And in the EDG doc JieJie asks for the team to give him the resources, and when they did they won.

Yea but LPL still better, Scout grew in LPL. Same with Doinb, his career was made in LPL
They play like LPL, not like lCK

#58

The only reason they grew in LPL was because Chinese teams simply paid more than Korean teams. They are still Korean players.

#61

Their careers were made in LPL. Im not saying their nationality lol. Their league, Their league is LPL and LPL is the best.
Scout wouldve made it to any LCK team but he wanted starting spot and LPL gave him that. LPL grows the korean talent and the talents paly the LPL style, not the LCK style or game

Do you really think Scout became a great player solely because he played in LPL? He had his talent and potential as a basis, he would've succeeded in LCK as well. You can't say LPL>LCK when it's flooded with Koreans players.

and your point is?

#111
hontonikireidesu

Frags

Instead of saying which teams are better based on their best global achievement rankings, I think its also imperative to analyze each teams' roster changes, reshuffles or any individuals that stands out or came back from hiatus.

For example, the current Zeta Divisions are comprised of Japans top players from different Esports teams:
Sugarzero aand TENNN from Northception til (Dec 2021),
Depp from Team Reject (til Dec 2021) with the remaining 3 members moving forward from Absolute Jupiter.

DRX, K1ng who went inactive since Dec 2021.

Xerxia, with Patiphan who left the Valorant scene to Overwatch with higher renumerations, ultimately replaced by Surf.

PRX with their member Shiba replaced by Jinggg.

Bleed roster swapping out FirstLove and Flaring for Pyth and Maxie from Sweden.

As more agents get introduce and meta changes over time, there might be a change in team/role compositions, acquiring players from other regions or Esports and even influx of newer players joining the scene from CSGO or Overwatch. The game is fairly young but dynamic. Since its advent in 2020, its has only been slightly more than 1 year in, so I think its hard to say which region is better than which region now.

*ps i freaking love Mako's gunplay from DRX. 10/10

#112
Jwpp33
0
Frags
+

Right. I agree with the points you've made about the fast-paced meta changes and the competitive scene being only a year old. But adapting to the meta, including the roster changes you've mentioned and changes in team compositions, contributes to the team's overall skill level and this is evident in their global event results. Because at the end of the day, what decides a winner and a loser is the result itself, not the process.

no bias KR>SEA=JP... From past history JP never placed higher than SEA (in master and champion) except last master and although you guy said that PRX lost to JP team twice, X10(XIA) and TS also beat CR, the best JP team at that time so I don't think the skill gap between SEA and JP are too far. For Korea, we need to accept that they beat SEA and JP so many time although FS beat NU and DWG during LCQ but other SEA teams lost to Korea. Therefore, in overall I think Korea still the strongest but the skill gap not that large anymore. Hopefully, next year we will see more match between SEA,KR and JP more, it gonna be fun:)

Zeta had one cinderella run and now all of a sudden Japan is the best region? Even better than Korea? No way dude, just because Zeta may be the best team in Asia and has the best result doesn't mean the whole region is at their level. Zeta did not play as well as they played in Reykjavik locally and were still way better than everyone else in Japan. Japan was a one-team region even before Zeta became elite the rest of the region has not shown that they are nearly as good. Now that Zeta is elite, they can definitely catch up, but you can not say the rest are as good because Zeta improved outside of the region. Both Korea and SEA have had better results and have sent more great teams internationally.
