-kon4n he provides nothing
-Khalil he's far too inconsistent
-mwzera he has far too much ego to work in any team

I see a lot of people saying drop havoc but honestly I'm willing to cut him some slack. He's a young, inexperienced fresh talent that got thrust into a fucking awful system that's just designed for mwzera to inflate his vlr rating while the team get's smurfed on, on an off role that he clearly hasn't been taught. Keep havoc. And obviously keep Nozwer he's insane and can call to a high degree given the right players.

Then +pANcada +dgzin +xand. dgzin is absurd and honestly when it comes to the internal issues that happened with him last year, it was over disagreements with mwzera and how he wanted to run the team, and seeing how mwzera is running the team, dgzin was probably in the right there. Then obviously pANcada, he's a Champs winning player. xand is just the best Brazillian Sentinel player outside of Less.

Also I would definitely change the coaching staff. Maybe trying to steal back Onur, or maybe mowzassa

Planting with Wingman shouldn't give ult orbs. The ult is insanely op, so that should reduce the amount that the Gekko player can just snowball ults by farming plants

I'd honestly make a case for Shao, he may be the most underrated player itw. No one rates him nearly as highly as they used to despite him retaining the exact same form since 2022

Get Enzo and emiL out. Liquid's strats have looked horrible and Enzo's fragging is subpar on his best maps. Sign zeddy from KPI to replace him, then in an ideal world Bonkar would come back to EMEA and sign but if not Onur from CASE could be a good shout.

Get rid of one of Mistic or Jamppi, ideally both. They're both incredibly inconsistent, having a life map every 5 maps and just underperforming for the rest. 1 player like that is workable but not ideal, having 2 means your team just won't be able to accomplish much. To replace them, ideally you'd want to try and steal Cloud and Sheydos from GX and KOI, but if not honestly soulcas has been absolutely smurfing in Polaris and consistently performing, could have a second chance on Liquid. Then nukkye if he's still looking to compete in franchising.

Finally, the question of Keiko. He's looked fine, but honestly I think Liquid could do with an upgrade. B1SK, Lime, ALIVE or kaajak could all work, but depending on how good his English is I think qw1 is their best option.

So the new Liquid roster becomes

Duelist - qw1/B1SK/ALIVE/kaajak/Lime
Flex - nukkye/sheydos
Initiator - Cloud/soulcas
Controller - zeddy (IGL)
Sentinel - nAts
Coach - Bonkar/Onur

You could make a super team of all the players in EMEA who are world class but trapped on dogshit teams. sheydos, nAts, Cloud and natanK. Call up zeddy from Tier 2 and go and reclaim Bonkar from NA and you have a bangin team.

There seems to be a trend of every year some player from NA just takes over the entire game and takes the spot of best player in the world for a year, before kinda falling off. In 2021 it was TenZ, in 2022 it was yay and in 2023 it was Demon1. After 2021 TenZ was really struggling for 2 years. After the C9 debacle yay had a terrible 2023 and seems to still be struggling this year. Now Demon1 seems to have lost some of his consistency and has only really performed against weaker teams so far this year. Now 2024 has been TenZ's redemption arc after kinda reinventing himself as a player. Does this mean next year is yay's return to the top of Valorant?

Also who is this year's NA takeover player? Zekken? Probably not, he was consistently performing before this year. OXY? C9 look like they're on a run and are probably locked for playoffs at this point, and could definitely make Shanghai

  1. NAVI - Shao and Suygetsu are just being themselves, ardiis has made a massive comeback in terms of form and Zyppan is having his moments while filling his role in the team, all while ANGE1 has his occasional god game and continues to call a fantastic game, with some of the strongest mental in all of Tier 1.

  2. VIT - They've played the 3 top teams from the other group and come out 2-1, now they have a fairly easy run to playoffs. Everyone on the team is popping off individually, and their calling looks good.

  3. FUT - Were looking really good at the start, anyone on the team can just take over a game. Sometimes their weird comps catch teams off guard and win them the game, sometimes they don't work like against VIT.

  4. TH - While they had a very flat performance against BBL, I'm willing to write that off as an off day, considering they started with a win over FNC and a super close game with VIT, and now they FINALLY have Wo0t coming into the roster, which should elevate them to this point.

  5. FNC - They started with a rough loss to TH, and have since been decimating the lower ranked teams of the opposite group, but next they play NAVI and FUT, who'll be their hardest challenge in the split.

  6. KC - KC have insane individuals and some really good set strategies, but their midrounding leaves a lot to be desired and once they're figured out in a round they struggle to adapt and have to rely on individuals to make hero plays.

  7. BBL - They're like the KRU of EMEA. They play incredibly simple, solid Valorant with cracked individuals. Honestly have a chance to make a run to playoffs.

  8. TL - Chokequid

  9. GX - Redgar just doesn't have it anymore, hoody seems to have lost his insane form, purp0's inexperience is showing through some inconsistency. A lot of the time Cloud and Fit1nho have to carry them.

  10. GM8 - They're just too obsessed with Phoenix, and natanK is the only player on the team who consistently performs.

  11. KOI - Just fucking dogshit, their best individual player is playing on a role he just does not work on and struggles a lot because of it. kamo is not ready for Tier 1 play, and the teams IGL'ing and decision making is just straight up bad

And NAVI and FNC back on top of EMEA

posted 1 month ago

After seeing how shaky Loud was against C9, are KRU set up to make a run to playoffs? They're probably favoured against EG, leaving them 3-0 up. Then they play 100t and Loud, who are both very winnable games for them and with the momentum KRU are building going 3-0 up, I can definitely see them having the confidence to take it to both teams. Then against LEV, we saw them crumble when C9 started playing scrappy, chaotic Valorant, so whose to say KRU couldn't do the same, arguably better. There's a genuine chance KRU have a flawless split, which would be REALLY funny

EMEA - NAVI, VIT and then either FNC, FUT or TH assuming Wo0t actually FINALLY comes in
AMER - SEN, NRG and LEV, with a chance for LOUD
PAC - PRX, DRX, GEN.G
CN - EDG, TE, FPX

Lock it in

Kinda given up on KC at Shanghai ngl. They’ve looked super shaky ever since the FUT series

posted 1 month ago

I think GX vs TL is 2-1 regardless of who takes it, it’s the Valorant Champions Berlin 2024 of Battle of Mid’s

posted 1 month ago

VIT are basically locked for playoffs, they’ve played the 3 hardest teams in the opposite group and beaten 2 of them, now it’s just relatively easy matches left for them to most likely end 5-1. FNC still have to get through FUT and NAVI but the most recent matches lead me to believe they’d probably beat FUT, leaving them 4-2 at minimum. KC currently sit at 2-2, with TH left as their big hurdle. If they can’t beat TH, then that leaves them most likely 3-3 at the end. BBL have FUT, NAVI and GX left to play. I’d definitely favour them to beat GX in fairly clean fashion and lose to NAVI fairly decisively after yesterdays showing. That leaves them 3-2 at minimum. After the shaky performance from FUT and surprising performance from BBL yesterday, that matchup is incredibly winnable for them, probably more winnable than TH for KC since Wo0t will be playing in the KC vs TH match. There’s a significant chance KC don’t make playoffs.

posted 1 month ago

NAVI seem to be having an absolute resurgence this year and look like the best team in EMEA, which is quite surprising considering the narrative everyone had surrounding this team that they were washed and had lost the 2022 magic. This has me thinking that this year could be their last dance, culminating with them winning champs in one last game together. Then ANGE1 retires and becomes a costreamer, ardiis and Zyppan go off to different teams while Shao and suygetsu stay on NAVI.

Thoughts?

Good showings in 2021, considered close to top 3 in their region, fall off in 2022 and have pretty poor seasons, win LCQ and get hyped up for champs, don’t accomplish much there. Build hyped up rosters for 2023 that end up choking and disappointing fans. Continually choke important matches that they should win. Have similar fan base of doomers who are too deep to back out.

Actually incredibly similar teams tbf

I mean their only competition for 4th place is 100t imo, and both teams have had incredibly good showings and some shit showings so far, so it’s very close
