1. 2024 - The first half of the year with Gekko Kay/o was probably the most diverse moment in Valorant's history, with every role having multiple agents that saw play. The Neon meta that came afterwards was a bit of a dip in how interesting it was to watch but it was still better than a lot of previous metas

2. 2022 - Chamber was the staple agent of 2022 and was pretty much in every game, but Chamber forced teams to be incredibly thorough on their attack side and the agents that were picked to counter him or support him were super diverse, and overall the level of play absolutely skyrocketed from because of it

3. 2025 - Obviously we haven't seen the entirety of 2025 yet but so far it's seemed pretty stale. Tejo is nearing Chamber levels of unanimous pickrate and honestly I think he's a lot less interesting to watch. Alongside that the agents we see around Tejo are pretty stale as well. Vyse dominates the sentinel role, Yoru takes up the majority of the duelist pickrate and the controller role is just one of Omen or Astra

4. 2021 - Astra, Viper and Jett pretty much held the meta in a stranglehold for the year, and paired with the lack of total agents in the game meant that the meta kind of inevitably had to end up being stale

5. 2023 - Bit of a hot take but I think 2023 was the least interesting point in Valorant history. There were quite literally 2 comps. One of Jett or Raze, one of Omen or Brimstone, one of KJ or Cypher and then either Sova or Fade + Breach or Kay/o or Skye and Viper. Every single map.

I've watched literally every piece of TH content since 2024 and I can say pretty confidently that from what I've seen TH have the best coaching staff in VCT

I think the team has issues with all of their individuals except Shao. koalanoob doesn't have a very high ceiling, Ruxic's decision making isn't up to par, hiro didn't look as comfortable as he did on FNC, ANGE1 is incredibly hit or miss etc etc. I don't expect them to make it far this season

Also I really think people have kinda forgotten how insane TH's ceiling is because of Kickoff. I have 100% faith that neilzinho and Weber will be able to bring them back into form. If you go and watch their Kickoff vlog neilzinho and Weber both talk about how they weren't mentally the same as they were in 2024 coming into this year and kinda needed to get humbled by VIT. This is only like a third copium I swear

Definitely the worst map in the game, only thing that's arguably worse is Breeze to me

It's virtually just 2 completely straight lanes in mid, a narrow choke point with a single box in the middle of site and a heaven angle on A, and then just a shite barren site with barely ever cover and 50 different angles that you need to clear when entering on B

It's boring to attack and annoying to defend and just fucking uninteresting to play

My hot take is that the OpTic core were never really dominant even in their prime

They were a consistently amazing team, but every game they played felt losable and very rarely did they actually dominate opponents. It's why so many of their games are touted as some of the best matches of all time. Because they were so consistently pushed to their limits by other teams
