He's now having the nickname "Big B" by the Chinese Weibo Netizens

This is from a post talking about Boaster's Interview (the one that says he's coming for EG) yesterday

Big B = Fnatic's Video on the Weibo featuring Boaster has him nicknamed Big B.
The video is about asking Boaster's favorite CN VAL player

but Boaster went on to mentioned a LoL player DoinB as well

If only performances deliver to match it, right now its a bit opposite from the Heat Number they have on their platforms which isnt bad actually.

The very least timezone did hurt CN Heat Index, by not much looks like
(2-3M Heat on 3AM, which is usually what LCK Stream over there regularly gets)

they already had Heat value, Just only need performance

fair trade since we get the opposite at League Worlds

This picture has surfaced across the internet and some of 3rd party store apps

The text simply say "Mobile Shooting Game from Riot" under the working title PROJECT C but we know its clearly VALORANT Mobile

The test seems to be recruiting from today and began test sometime mid August, which just so happened to be right around VCT Champions going on

Previously theres a rumor that Riot did not like the Tencent-build version of VALM, and decides to rebuild VALM from scratch by gaving the project to Riot LA aka the Console Team.

Its possible we getting 2 VALM versions, The tencent build one belongs to the China Server

After they announced they are going to rework their Franchised Model suddenly after 5 years of no changes

They went on to announced complete rebrand of their esports department

Again, something they've never done since the brand started in 2013, they just suddenly think of it this year

While its because this is around the game's 15-year anniversary, pretty sure VALORANT launches in China has a lot of effect on their competitor

Both games are operated by Tencent in China, only the devs are different

Considering today APAC except KRJP is still quite a Mobile Game territory

each became reactive to each other, all it took was VALORANT to launch in China

They will, there was a blog post recently saying skins that released globally will come to CN at the same time. They have announced that CN will get the same drops as well on their platforms

Experience champions directly on the game! were mentioned on the blogpost

Per the blogpost

Esports In-Client Hub

We’re making it easy to get all your VCT info without leaving the VALORANT client. Experience champions directly on the game!

In-Client here could mean just on the launcher or inside the game

(Not to be confused with the one on Chinese Server)

CrossFire has announced a new Seat System coming to the 2024 Chinese League

Coincidentally the Chinese League for VCT is gonna be next year as well, looks like the arrival of VCT CN does warrant CFPL to start moving

For starters CrossFire introduced franchising in 2019, a cost of $1.5M grants the owner entries to the PC and Mobile league together.
However since then they werent able to draw any new buyer and only two new buyer happens by replacing those who left

Considering VCT China has a Buy-in, but is surely much cheaper than CFPL + potential Temporary Seat, no wonder CrossFire has to made this change to try counter VALORANT

Specially CFPL has already loses out in Heat Number because VALORANT encourages Costreams

(Meanwhile CS still stuck with Perfect World's small scale league, which was the most of publisher effort coming out of PW)

TLDR: CS1.6 clone to improve their esports to try counter VALORANT Esports

Appears to be 3280VP, this is for a reason

in China VP conversion ratio set by the publisher is more expensive, CN Server sets that 1 CNY = 10 VP. While the rest of the world is 1 CNY = 12 VP.

Therefore because VP is set more pricier by the publisher, they have to dropped the VP Cost of everything to be much lower to off-set this

TLDR; This cost you $46 in CN SV, what's the price in other regions?

posted 9 months ago

Pretty much similar setup (standard?) for all regions

posted 9 months ago

Brazil won for two years and the only country to beat China at Worlds. At one point you have Brazil, Russia, NA, EU competing

nowaday five regions left: China, Vietnam, Philippines, Brazil, EMEA

a Short teaser was shown, presumably this might be the backstage of the venue

The remaning 4 teams will compete on July 13-16 with 1 BO5 every day to determine the Champion of CN Qualifier, plus the last spot is yet to be determined

Qualifier ends in the 1862 Art Hall, the same place they held the Server Launch announcement a month ago. Capacity sounds like its doubled of SCARZ Watch Party in a theatre which already sold out

So many players logging in so much servers down and now has queue, shows that theres way more than enough interest.

Their Chaohua/Super Talk seems very lively as well on Looking for parties.

Please finally so mainland players can moved on from CF

idk yet, its not the 100vp that were talked for sure that pic was a test server. I would assume standard knife price tho (then tuned down to matched China exchange rate that was lowered than the rest).

Standalone Launcher client for VALORANT Chinese Server
Generally Tencent game titles is being accessible/login/launched through either WeGame or Tencent Gaming Buddy (think both of these as Tencent's Steam/EGS)

Also unlike other games, QQ or WeChat dictates the server you played and users from both login type cant be queued or searched each other. Here in CN VAL both will be under the same server and can play together eitherw ay

Riot CN choses to create a standalone launcher for the VAL CN server which includes more built-in features only seen in this client, including

  • dedicated Player Stat Record page
  • Strategy Page contain curated Video content guide of the game (most Tencent games will also include Curated guides made by Content Creators)
  • dedicated Chat Room that looks like Discord but jumps straight out of the launcher
  • Esports section to watch ongoing tournaments, highlights and replay directly
  • lastly the recording tool that most of you loses mind over it few weeks ago

I don't play VAL, but tell me are all these not in the global client that we have at all?

posted 9 months ago

Note that 100vp is an incorrect value, it was on the Tournament server everything is 100 there

It is expected in Tencent fashion to do this (or generally Chinese Server in general) especailly in this VALORANT Context.

surely Riot doesnt want to be beaten by 15 year old game called CrossFire (like CSGO and OW, where both unable to topped a 2007 game numbers) You had to go in there with more stuff to keep up with CF

Official List of Games to enter this year's conference is announced

Tencent has their own Esports Business Summit every year, but also a platform for all Tencent-ran esports to make announcement or updates about their competitive scene. This is generally meant for the China National Scene but International event is being talked from time to time

This year is the first time since event's inception that Tencent marketed this event in English, had schedule in English, and even a Youtube stream. All of which never happen before

July 14, specially these games segments starts from 14:15 Local time (other segments takes up the morning timeslot)

The event promised TWO NEW ESPORTS SERIES, which coincides with two new games being added to the showcase. This and their Apex Mobile clone

  • You get rebates from Recharging during beta (e.g. Recharge 1000 , 140% meant you get 140% of that in return on Launch)

  • I dont think you can changed away from Mandarin Voices/Lang on the National Version?

July 13/14 - 98/128 CNY ($13.5/$17)
July 15/16 - 128/168 CNY ($17/$23)

Not with any other country, well simply because others dont have this issue of skins getting super overpriced unintentionally

posted 9 months ago

Pretty much, what they do is China has a different Currency to VP Rate
but because of that everything gets over-expensive, they fixed by dropping VP cost of skins to bring this in line

posted 9 months ago

They dont really mentionoed but expect to be lowered in VP

For example Nebula Phantom instead of 1775 is now 1390VP on Chinese Server, but when compared on the recharge rate

Hong Kong's 1775VP = $142 HKD ($18)
China's 1390VP = 139 CNY = $150 HKD ($19)

$1 difference, if China kept same 1775 instead of paying $18 for a Nebula Phantom, you paid $24 instead

posted 9 months ago

PRIME 2.0 now cost 5160 instead of 7100
and Xeno is now 5560

Context: The recharge rate to refill VP in China is very different, 1 CNY = 10 VP. While closest counterpart, Hong Kong is 1:13

This caused massive heat from the netizen because it meant skins and bundle in CN Server under this rate can be as far as $10-20 more expensive than the global server if it costs same VP as Global

the fix? They adjusted skin price to cost way less VP
but with the 1:10 VP exchange rate meant instead of $20+ pricier, now only $1-2 pricier

Global still cheaper than CN, but this was made so that CN isnt unreasonably $20+ expensive than Global.
