First Look at the "Spectator Mode" for Mobile version
https://x.com/AnakinJuegos/status/1925820776378212533

they have a built in UI that is similar to tournament UIs right in the game that it details player's economy, ultimate points and their status.

Unlike PC it would be just blank screen with no player bars on the side (and the tournament UI had to be requested or pay to Riot to use it)

Additionally, Custom lobbies in Mobile is now a server browser like Dota2 where you can browse rooms to join

THIS,

EPIC literally kililed SEA server, they added it around the time they start being free to play (it is before the Kevin Cube is a thing) then quietly dropped it saying low population

then they failed to get approval in China as well, game stuck in "Test" state with MTX disallowed for years until they gave up too. Leaving PUBG as the ONLY Sort of approved PC BRs in the country, neither APEX or COD ever gets one

CrossFire is a 2007 old CS1.6 clone made by a Korean company Smilegate, the game remains one of the most played games in China to this day with a Franchised League model like VCT but with no Tier 2.

It was a game that CS has never beat them in Internet Cafe numbers and it only took VALORANT couple years to finally beat them.

Apparently Smilegate has open up career jobs, for developing a sequel to the original CrossFire - https://careers.smilegate.com/apply/announce/view?seq=5568

There are two Korean Companies that is moving actively building a sequel of their top FPS after VALORANT beat them in numbers:

List of features that were currently present in the Mobile Private Test in China, features that isn't available on PC
https://x.com/ValorantMobileX/status/1924095750080020526

One reason being the game was co-developed, with PUBG Mobile developers.

China and their esports would say otherwise

https://x.com/Egehanss1/status/1923002091733205368

In the Mobile version, The way custom rooms work is now a Server Browser where you can actually browse a list of other people's custom room, you can see the status and all its room settings or even join it

Spectator Mode is also added, that includes an UI interface that contains player bar on the left and right, just like the one in VCT but instead they made it built-in into the game

It also appears that you can adjust the number of rounds required or limits what agents, guns, skills a player can use as well

Riot China & Tencent [drops a new trailer for VALORANT Mobile today - https://x.com/VALORANTLeaksEN/status/1922864645531906426 as a starting guide for players on what the game is. Actual beta starts next month

For starters, this game is co-developed with the PUBG MOBILE developers (a non riot studio), Mobile market is one of the biggest markets in Asia (specially China) which is normal that this isnt' really well known fact in the West.

Several details were mentioned in the trailer including

  • Matches in VALM is MR8 and not 13, so you win by reaching 8 rounds. This also applies to their ranked mode. One of complaints Wild Rift get back then is a match was too long for a mobile game standard.

  • Dedicated objective-based training sytem - https://x.com/subzidite2/status/1922914162012811434-
including its own training map, and a certificate when you completed tests

  • Their WeChat account has confirmed VALM will have Exclusive Maps, Skins, modes and contents to this version - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Gq9ZHVuXkAAP66w?format=jpg&name=large

  • Not shown in trailer but the game recieved a new build that now adds a Custom Match system and its own Battle Pass, which wasnt there before

  • The game already have a replay system, but they are inaccurate and not synced up with what actually happen

  • Raze has two satchel in Mobile version - https://x.com/Egehanss1/status/1922691358910755011/photo/1
additionally Aim Assist is noticeably lowered in the new build

Appears to be held May 22-25, and has ACL Branding attached even after the actual ACL concluded
EWC accidentally list this qualifier, in the page for their Chess tournament

Most mobile games can detects emulator usage and can throw you into a separate queue against emulator users as well

Wild Rift (and MAC OS Valorant) currently runs something called "embed Vanguard" which closes after you close down the game so probably that

Riot China made a post today revealing that the pre-register count for upcoming China Public Playtest in June

has reached 10,000,000 pre registers in just 48 hours, pretty very fast on compare with other Mobile Games having pre-regs in China.

and a built-in spectator UI like tournaments, Previous NDA test had no custom rooms so Mobile is just one step away from fully able to run tournaments at demand

After years of development, they have officially announced the Mobile version of the game

The game will be developed by TWO STUDIOS

  • One half is Riot Games
  • One half is LIGHTSPEED, Tencent's own studio, known as the PUBG Mobile developers

Trailer can be seen here

Unlike Wild Rift where Riot develops almost entirely, this one is Half Riot and Half non-Riot

Since they got a non-Riot studio to work this basically meant different development features in the Mobile version that PC doesnt have, so far

  • MVP Animation post-game
  • VCT-styled Spectator UI built-into the game
  • Bind & Lotus having mobile only map layouts - The layouts, marked on Chinese version site as "Mobile Original" maps
  • Tutorial-only custom maps
  • Replay System - it look like this

Are the unique features of Mobile version

Beta Signups goes live first in China then Riot will look to expand outside them, China is one of the key mobile markets so they are last to get PC Version, but first to get Mobile Version

posted 2 months ago

add Russians if Riot willing to re-add them so they can move on from a game called Standoff (and China if they moved on from CrossFire Mobile)

Their official weibo accidentally posted it earlier an hour ago but taken down quickly, there's a Tencent Games Showcase on Tuesday

The video reveals some footage of the Mobile version including some new contents, Mobile version would be developed together with Lightspeed, the PUBG Mobile developers with Pre-Register in China starting after the video's supposed dropping date (Either Monday or Tuesday)

THIS is the game's official logo for Mobile version

Tencent recently announced their annual games showcase called SPARK in China today, in one of the event website on a Chinese App Store they listed the Mobile Version of VALORANT as one of the games to be part of the showcase

the event is on April 22nd, Back in 2023 version of this showcase was also where Riot announces the Close Beta date for Chinese server of PC VALORANT as well.

That is if they get the game without Govt striking out those first, Chinese app did get banned a lot over there in the recent years due to the border tension

hope they really get to play the game

Douyin (TikTok in China)
Weibo, this display a banner that seems official

Summary of accounts discovered so far

Tencent were very much quiet for the whole 2024 for comparision.

indirectly but it does help a lot with LoL's recent marketing restart over the years, so their LoL team affects all the way to the VALORANT side locally here

incl. China numbers - Most watched masters according to Leo

So thats around 3.7M from Chinese platforms alone

while Chinese platforms uses Heat Index which factors in chat activities and giveaways on their platforms,
Companies such as Tencent/Valve can gain access to direct raw traffic numbers (which isnt used publicly by Chinese platforms)

not CN but someone following the scene often, PUBG and DOTA cause are due to declining growth in the game, PUBG has yet to get approval meant orgs cant invest much while in DOTA2 well LoL and HoK eclipsed them in every aspect

the U18 rule does affect a bit where in the past teams like to stack U18 players as academies but they seem to adapt from it fine

Last year a Viral News makes massive headlines here, you may have recognized in the past of this picture featuring a Korean Tekken player inhaling a Thai Herbal Inhaler called Hong Thai before playing a match

Much later today Riot took a step further out of that and reveals a collab with the Inhaler brand itself
wrapped in a VALORANT V25 branding, you can actually bought it at the Venue until the tournament ends.

in June 2024, I discovered that Tencent/Riot China has created a WeChat official account for VALORANT Mobile in secret

Exactly Today, they quietly deactivates the old account and create a new one instead. Which is the first time there's been any sort of official movement of VALORANT Mobile in a pretty long while since the beta at the end of 2024, theres been radio silent since
